Wind Calling Game - What do you think?

I find this project very interesting Keith and worth doing, you do a good job on video and presentation also. Keep going forward I think it’s a great idea!

I think these are great videos and I think its something that others can learn a lot about.

My two points of how it could have been better for myself (I'm trying to get a handle on wind)

1. The countdown is great, but it's blocking the wind flags. Maybe a countdown somewhere not in the way?
2. The shotmarker shows up really late so it's hard to see where the last wind call went while trying to make the next wind call.

Great video idea

This looks like a great training tool. Being able to see where you hold in the different conditions is very enlightening for me. This could shorten the leaning curve for new shooters like me!

Thank you for posting I thoroughly enjoy your videos.

Played along as it is a good exercise to try and keep sharp

1st sighter is completely perplexing nothing in the video i can see supported holding left rings...you make a great call. - I called 2 rings right; targets 7 & 8 show dust from bullet impact moving right to left, flags moving right to left then drop. (residual right to left)...

2nd sighter you hold x ring which made sense, but for different reasons. You see the wind changing direction ( i centre up as i didn't see holding left ring) the shot is now confirming what my eyes are seeing

and we're off... love two sighters and shots for record.

Cheers
Trevor

There was an interactive shooting game circa 2003 that was based on ranges like Camp Perry, Whittington Ctr, Mineral Wells, etc that dealt with NRA Highpower NMC and 1000yd shooting. The company that marketed it was Interactive Sports Entertainment. If you hunt around, you may find some information. You may even find someone that has a copy of the game.

I completely agree with @Jennb , on doing one for .308 ....because the .308 is more highly affected by wind issues , based on lower MV's . And "Calls" would be more pronounced .

I had that game and remember it well. To my recollection it was never updated for the newer video drivers or something like that and just disappeared. Would like to see that one resurrected.

Sadly, the company went out of business not real long after the game was released. It wasn't a huge seller because it was a niche market, selling during the downslide of Highpower shooting in general. It really was a good training aid for younger shooters because they could play the game and get experience without ever firing a shot. They would hear all of the range commands, etc.
