This might be a good time to list those attributes that are desirable in a wind flag, and what separates good ones from mediocre, or even home made ones.
I only started using my home made flags this year for 2 and 3 hundred yd shooting. Had to get permission from the range owner first, of course. But they do help.
They are nothing more than bright pink surveyors tape atop a PVC pole screwed into a wooden base. But they work, sort of, and help with understanding wind movement on that particular range. Obviously they fall well short of imparting the kind of information a good quality flag does, and this is my point in asking the question. What am I looking for in a wind flag?
