Winchester small rifle MATCH primers

I was on Midways site recently and they listed Winchester SR MATCH primers for sale.
I was not aware that Win. made a SR match grade primer, has anyone tried them, what were the results.
As I remember the price Midway had on them was pretty reasonable.
Would like to know how they compare to Fed. 205m and CCI Br-4 primers.

The Win ammo WS shows only the Winchester small rifle (WSR) in their 7 primer production line. So ??

As far as anyone knows, these are the same primers with a different box. They are so well regarded that the price is lower than the norm as a result. Caveat Emptor

Used these in my PPC and 6BR. Worked good although if I remember correctly I had one misfire.

Have had mixed results. While my Savage 223 loves these primers, My 6BR and 7BR actually prefer 205M's.

Same primer as regular Win. Federal gold medal primers are the same as regular primers. They just use their most experienced workers make them.

Right as the bat flu was starting Win was coming out with the MATCH primers. But they just disappeared and never seen any.

Steve, I believe those are the primers that Winchester uses in their premium lines of factory ammo. I have a 1K of them and shot them in my 6PPC against standard Winchester WSR's, Federal 205's and 205M's with good results (from all primers tested).

I am curious as to the thickness of the cup? If it's a thick cup it could be useful!

Got a couple of Flats , to check them out , and my Target said they were okay . Didn't see much difference in score , or X-count .

Good day,

Someone measured the width of the red box LR primers, and they were as undersized as the production runs without chrome/nickle plating. I'd be surprised if these were any different.

The ones here measure the same as the 205M's.

Can't measure cup thickness, but old white box measure between 0.1745 and 0.175.

Went to CCI 41 before a buddy used up all my old blue box primers.

The match primers are closer to a gold color for one thing. The WSR primers are more of a brass color. So relatively easy to distinguish between the two.

Slightly higher and more consistent MV on 4 of the 5 rifles we've tried them in.

Their color is different, and yes seeing better performance out of some rifles. I plan to keep a good stock of them . WD
