Wolf Small Rifle .223 REM Primers

While I have an adequate supply of FED BR and CCI BR Small Rifle primers, I just can't help myself. I have a couple of bricks of the .223 Wolf Small rifle primers. I am going to take my favorite 6br load and try the Wolf primer. I will be looking for SD's ED's and Velocity (while I watch the grouping). I am a varmint and funshooter not a BR guy (did that 18 years ago and stopped because it was making me crazy).
Anybody tried the Wolf SR .223 primers in their 6br or is this blasphemy? thanks rc

if they are the same thing as the small rifle mag, then yes, i use those primers in my ar-15 and my 6BR. i will never use another primer!

I edited my post changing AR-15 to the correct title for the primer. I have 2 or 3 bricks of Wolf Small Rifle - .223 primers. They came after the Small Rifle Magnum and may have replaced them. They are hot and consistant with a solid cap to help with the free firing pin issue in the AR's. They have been very consistent in my .223 AR platform space gun.

Again, always just looking for the next good idea.

Just make sure you really seat the Wolf primers good. They are a little harder primer cup and the anvil sticks up a little. I use a Lee hand primer and you can feel the anvil hit the bottom of the primer pocket and then you need to put a little more pressure on so you can feel the primer cup seat firm in the pocket and compress the priming pellet with the anvil. Improper seating of these primers has been a big problem with people having fail to fire problems me included when these primers first came out. Once I learned how to properly seat them I have had no problems.

I use Wolf exclusively in my 6mmBR's and love them.

But the "regular" small rifle primers are SOFT. I mean pistol primer soft.

I use only the harder small rifle magnum primers. My ES as under 10 fps with these.
