Well it’s a double based ball powder so it’s going to be more temperature sensitive!
6.5 stabal was designed for the 6.5 creedmoor a lot of Ar competitors use to use 748 I don’t know if they still do or not. Who knows on availability.

Used to be a time when people went out in all weather conditions and shot/gathered data.
They then used said real world data to make dope cards, and KNEW that at 18°F it required X amount elevation, compared to 80° day.
Anymore it seems like do your load development on a sunny 72° day, and call it golden.
I often find myself alone at the range on a 20° day with blowing snow, or the opposite 100° day with no wind to speak of.
The original long distance shoots started in the black powder era.
Can you see some guy at Williamsport asking the fellow in the next lane if he's using temp stable powder in his Kentucky?

Black powder is the most consistent burning powder ever produced and isn’t temperature sensitive so I doubt that would be asked. I see what your saying and I think a lot of people still do that. I think phone apps and possibly laziness has something to do with what your talking about. I try to find powders not too sensitive to temp and load it so it works year around! I know you play with bullet weights and that’s fine but for me I find a bullet that shoots and never change it, if I want to shoot elk I use my .338s with heavy bullets if I want to shoot ground hogs I use a smaller gun with smaller bullets and for competition I use 6mm heavy bullets but that’s just me,my Brx o shoot 34.5 gr of varget with 105 vlds and it shoots well in May and August the same. So I guess I’m lazy as I have no range cards to speak of except the ones I had 20+ years ago of which I don’t use anymore anyway. I do however like your posts and I think your spot on on many of the subjects I have seen you write about! It’s raining and blowing hard so I doubt I get to try big game in my 7-08 you and I talked about but may chronograph a few to see what speed I can get the 168s too.

Winchester Staball 6.5 seems like it could be a good fit in the .284 win. I called Hogdon they have no data available yet for the .284. I'd be interested to know if any f classer types have tried it with 180's?
Started load workup for 6.5 Creedmoor with staBALL 6.5 and typical to ball powders in general, it only seems to begin to shine near/at the top of the pressure curve.
I got one excellent node low, but who wants to send a 147 ELD-M out at 2380?
It wasn't until the top end that it came together giving me 75 fps higher velocity and better accuracy than my tried and true H-4350 load.
As for the temp stability, the next 90°+ day is a ways off around here.
