Williamsport 2021

Thanks Egan, It will be like shooting the World open every match. And as for the would open now that we are back to Agg"s for that. We should shoot a Three target Agg. Four targets Saturday and two Sunday. With using15 Benches this is also possible.

Joe did you say that ridiculous pts system went away for the world open!?
 
I will volunteer to run the public draw Friday night before the World Open. This will take some of the work load off of the organization. I realize that it is extremely stressful for them. I think it would be fun. If the individual is not present for the draw youth shooters present will draw for them.
 
No Joe, I am volunteering to accept the responsibility for the random draw for benches. I am not affiliated with the club other than membership status. This would take the computer generated draw out of the equation. I feel that if any participant would like to draw for their position for the weekend they should have that opportunity. Than there would be no bitching.
 
If someone is not able to participate Friday for the draw than a person who is not affiliated with the club or has membership would draw for them. The shoot should be world wide for it has no affiliation to any membership. It is solely based on fun and fellowship. Every one participating should feel that they have a equal chance. No one should drive home with the thought that they might have been slighted. This event needs to be focused on the barrels and bullets. Tom Jacobs nailed it this past year. Good job Tom. Utmost respect for you. The top shooter at any event needs to be rewarded for their efforts.
 
Clarification is needed on my part. What I was referring to is the drawing for benches and relays for the World Open only. The old way of pulling chips, I thought, use to be fun for all. This of coarse would have to be voted on by the board. I in no way want to make changes to the regular season format.

Why would you want to give up shoot offs? All head to head, fairest option the is. An agg especially only 2 targets is still dependent on relay draw. Why the fear of true head to head competition. To me that is the biggest appeal Williamsport has.
 
How about show me again your 4" group wasn't luck! I know I've been beat out of the shoot off by a 100 thou. or less and was done for the day. Not my cup of tea. This way everyone gets to shoot again or you can say well I shot 10" so what are my chances of winning. Well the guy that shot 4" may shoot 12" next time around, so know you have a chance. By the way how many shoot off did you make this year.

If you go to the shoot off and win again, 2 wins in a row, everyone shooting in the same conditions, then you deserve to win. If you don't, you lost. Pretty simple. Fairest system around at an extremely successful range and people are looking to change it. Sounds like politicians. Good luck, I hope the Golden Goose doesn't loose it's head. Just remember you have a very successful history. And, once the cat is out of the bag it usually ain't going back in. Good luck I hope it all works out for your continued sucess.

I’m with Joe on this,we get 70-80 shooters in lg and 10 get to shoot 2 times… with over a 3 hour drive that sucks. Just because it’s always been like that doesn’t mean the majority like it. A lot of people just won’t speak up,,,,vote on it.
 
Don yes it needs to be OK'ed by the board then voted on by the members, it's not just up to the Board of directors. even with 90 shooters that's 6 relays. Very doable and still have time to shoot 600 yards.
