Go to a SAT.. match at WP. You can shoot 2 times NOW.... 1000 and 600. tune your gun and shoot 3 times .. Want more shooting ... BR 22 match.. You can shoot all day NOW and you want more ????

Tom Quit making it a double match it isn't, you don't have to shoot the second time and it's not held against you. Your Double match consists of two shoot off's I don't want that. And you can stick around for the 600 yard match if you want. Your first match goes toward you agg. that's it. No penalty's for going home or shooting just another way to test a new load under real match conditions.

Everytime something was changed, you lost shooters. Sometimes it was only a few and sometimes it was alot. I have watched this happen for the last 20 years. Matt

Unless it's a double match it makes zero sense. Why would non winners shoot a second (shoot off) match? This like a mulligan or participation trophy? If you are going to waste everyone's components, time and money it should count for something. I mean I really don't care since Eric booted me from the club on BS made up shit.. Participation trophies are big nowdays. If they can't win they want another chance. Well, didn't win that time either, let them go around again (pssssst, maybe by the third chance the wind will die down). So eventually the guy with the deepest pockets will roll over the rest of the field. Sounds like golf....mulligans and handicaps. We have had this fight at a club I belong to. Guys wanted to shoot more than one gun in the same class ......nope....everyone gets one chance. Want to shoot another gun it must be in a different class.
I have never seen you say anything positive about a shooting venue but your own

Your confused. I am supporting the Williamsport as it is. I am not supporting the watering down of head to head everyone has an equal chance competition. I won't even honor your above statement by pointing our my numerous posts supporting other matches. I have one minor gripe of Williamsport concerning the lack of a true open draw for the open. Other than that history shows it has been well run, well supported, and extremely successful. I don't understand the desire to change what is not broken. So that is my opinion. Your entitled to yours. I look at many of these questions that come up from the perspective of how will it affect others considering the sport, which overall is shrinking. I try not to look at it from what will benefit me. If that offends you, so be it. End of subject, for me. Good luck and small groups to you in the coming year Dub.

Jeff are you a regular shooter at Williamsport? If not for the last 50 years all I hear is I want to shoot more! Well here is your chance. And if you don't shoot the second round it's not held against you and you can go home. And if you won your relay and deserve to shoot in the shoot off, what the hell is the difference, you get to prove your the best by shooting against the same people again. Or are you so worried that now you have to agg. your targets against everyone that shot that day.

Why would you not just have a double match then? Agg for the winners and have twice the payout as well. Schedule the matches in months that usually produce better conditions..
Joe, the 50 yrs you are talking about how many times was the proposed format used? If you didn't use this then 50 yrs is just a number with zero experience of what you are proposing..

Ray the 50 years I'm talking about didn't have the facility we have today and sometimes there were around a 120 shooters. With 15 benches with our only 90 shooters that's like 6 relay. would you rather be in relay 6 or 10 with the way they do it now. And I for one want to have 10 matches, the season goes by to fast as it is.
All I want to do is try something different if people don't like it we go back to the way it was.
