Maximum load data is based on pressure limits. They rarely result in best accuracy. Many times, the best accuracy is found somewhere in the lower half of what the book recommends.
Rammac- case head to ogive or the point where the bullet could (but not necessarily) be expected to meet the lands.
Overall length of the cartridge (case head to bullet tip) is only needed to make sure it will function thru the magazine. Measure your spire point hollow tip bullet overall length and you will see they vary, but not from base to ogive.

Make sure you understand what COAL, Case length, and headspace means, and go to the SAAMI website and check specs for your cartridge.
COAL does not mean case head to bullet tip.
Vargetone more thing, i have varget, imr 3031 and imr 4064. any advice on decent loads for 308 with these powders? i know every rifle is different but im just curious if some of you have had decent success with any of this boom boom dust.
