I have two customs, 1 with a 2 oz. Jewell, 1 with a Trigger Tech Diamond straight trigger, both excellent triggers. The Jewell is a benchrest rifle, TT Diamond PRS rifle. I like my Savage's a lot, I'm growing fond of the Origin action with TT Diamond trigger.
Are you shooting these matches at your local club? If so what brand of equipment are you shooting? If not a Savage, are they besting you?

Just my opinion jard doesn’t look much different than Rifle basixThe new Jard Savage trigger solves all the trigger problems... Mine is 5 oz. and perfect.

Savage LRPV comes in a single shot 6 Br LP rb 26 inch barrelThis season I am only shooting the 100-300 matches. The top gun in Factory class (which they let me shoot with an AR .224 since they don't have more than 2 AR shooters) is using a Savage 6.5 creedmoor 12 LRP...the big black ones.....actually there are about a dozen or so seen often at our range for different shoots. Savage 6 BR's often win in Hunter class for this same shoot. I am in 3rd place with my AR against all the bolt guns and have shot more X's than anyone else in the division. But I still can't beat the Savage yet in overall score
Next season I have a 6 BRI Custom for 1000 yard LG. One shooter is winning some Factory shoots at 1000 yards with his Savage 6.5 creedmoor.
The Savage 12 LRP usually wins the 500-1000 yard timed steel plate matches.
So yes, they are competitive and accurate. They do not win HG or LG matches at 1000- but then again, none of the top shooters are using them either.
My question for you is: were you able to install (can the average person install) the TT Diamond on your Savage or is a gunsmith needed?

Then of course the F class model is available.
I built my own
The only part of the new Jard trigger that is Savage is the mounting pin. I checked mine at 5 oz with no creep and slammed the bolt home hard numerous times and the trigger remained set. I used it at the range this weekend and fired 50 with no issues.Just my opinion jard doesn’t look much different than Rifle basix
What model and caliber do you have it on?The only part of the new Jard trigger that is Savage is the mounting pin. I checked mine at 5 oz with no creep and slammed the bolt home hard numerous times and the trigger remained set. I used it at the range this weekend and fired 50 with no issues.
It is a game changer for the Savage trigger.
You will love it

Will a Creedmoor do thisNice looking gun.
If I get one I still don't know which one. The 6.5 creedmoor's do really well and one shooter just shot a 1.498" group at 600 yards in a recent match. (they shoot 600 yard matches at a sister club)
I'd prefer a 6br but there are still a number of options on barrel length and I think 3 or so different factory stocks. I want it to remain factory class if I get one so it will have to keep its stock.
Will a Creedmoor do this
If you had a choice between starting with a 12 Fclass (unbalanced heavy front end with 30" barrel), 12 benchrest(less unbalanced with 29" barrel but not a flat bottom stock), 12 lrpv(more balanced with 26" barrel but not a target trigger) which would it be and why- briefly?Mines 28
Check the equipment list at any Br event, if you see a Creedmoor in the top 10 it’s rare

Just picking your brain here.
At our range Savage 6.5's and 6 BR's are as competitive as any "Custom" gun at 100-300 yard matches and at least one scored a sub-4" 5 shot group at 1000 yards.
I believe most "purists" to 1000 yard shooting would always point to individual component quality as a benefit of a custom gun over a Savage. For a fraction of the cost of a "custom" rifle build would the Savage not be a good choice if your club has a Hunter/Factory class for 1000 yards? (A Savage would be in the Hunter class at our range if it has a custom barrel on it.)
Is there something about the various 6mm Savages that I'm missing on why they are not highly recommended?
I do see quite a few listings of people trying to get rid of them but never read much on why. I do not own one.
I'm only looking for generalized responses on why someone might or might not recommend a Savage for 1000 yard shooting- not to start an argument between two possible camps.
