The scope and line of sight have no EFFECT on bullet path. The scope is merely a tool that allows you to see where the bullet is going. You can adjust that tool so that it's line of sight is up in the trees and the bullet is still going to follow the rules of physics based on where the barrel is pointed. It is rather convenient to adjust the scope so that its line of sight coincides with your bullet impact at a given distance though.
