Ladder Test

Here is pic with recent Ladder test i performed at 600y with 200g hybrid for my ftr rifle with n140, thinking shot 5 was in middle of possible node i loaded up 15 shots to try at 1000y however verticals were tad disappointing shot 2B was my varget go to load for 1000y and thinking i should Load up 10 shots to try from shot 10 which seems to be level with shot 2B however i am not sure why shot 11 was both lower than shot 10 and 9 in ladder test any possible reason for this? does a shot with increased charge printing lower on target than 2 lower charge shots indicate possible start or end of node any ideas and views with possible accuracy nodes with this Ladder test, thanks.

I would be looking at the shot 5 area myself unless you have pressure issues. Nothing wrong with your old Palma load at this point. Try both. Your last shot could also be vertical dispersion and not in a good way. You could try to test it but I am betting it is way out from a node standpoint.

I would definitely be looking around 5...but question is what were the ES/SD's for the 5 load once you loaded up a group? Somewhere around there you should find one with low ES/SD's...then tune the groups via seating depth.

Thanks for replies, would i be correct in thinking shot 11 dropping below previous 2 shots confirms out of node condition which usually takes another few shots with higher charges before start with next node, shot 2B which is my varget 1000y go to load is 11 inches higher than shot 5 node thus why i believe i might find a better node with shot 8 or 9 which i will try end of week at 1000y.

Erin Cortina has a 114 page thread on load development. I suggest you try it. The problem with shooting 600yds is there can be so many environmental effects that an alter your shots.
