Who's got a new truck ?

I would love to have another diesel p/u since I drive 18 Wheeler for a living. It just sucks that you have to buy a 3/4 ton pickup to have one with any type of power.
I know gmc and chevy came out with a 4 cylinder but that's a waste of money .IMO.
I have wanted a 1/2 diesel for many years

Old trucks, new trucks...
How bout an old truck made to act n look like a new truck???
Stay tuned,, the transformation is underway, this is gonna be a east coast west coast kinda thing.
Sit back enjoy the ride and take a number....

Thanks. I’m currently driving my wife’s 2019 expedition limited. Clunky transmission, twin turbo nonsense, had the computer replaced under warranty for issues like you stated, sunroof had leaks. It’s a super nice ride, but I don’t think I trust it enough to keep it long term. Too much crap to break that can’t be fixed - only replaced. First time I’ve ever bought an extended service plan. Our kids are getting to the point where the 3rd row isn’t as necessary. Plus, I want a truck, dammit!

Got rid of my 2014 Silverado LT 5.3 recently at 177k. Had an exhaust leak and something going on with the transmission/ torque converter. It was a damn good truck, tho. Traded it towards a grand Cherokee that my wife now drives. It has the Penstar 6 in it- no eTorque (or whatever). Seems a little under powered compared to the Expedition. That’s why I’m curious how it would fare in a 1/2T pickup. I’d prefer a V8, but at what cost????

Maybe a Tradesman with a Hemi, then get it leveled out for better approach angle. They’re too low up front for our hunting property. Lots to think about.
Oh from your description you'll love mine.only time I've got on it hard a tundra kept running up on me and backing off trying to race me.finally we pulled up to same red together.i rolled down window and flagged my finger and roasted him.i looked in side rear view mirror and he was waving by at me.

There's not a 80's or 90's sports car that can run with a newer ram 5.7 I love it.

Even bought the wife a jeep.after all the crappy cars we've had we are a Mopar family at least for now

I got a $100 says your paint code is PAU.

I recently picked up a new 2022 F150 Powerboost XLT for around 56K. It’s insane how much tech the XLT models have now. The only thing I wish was different is it had the 7.3kw onboard generator mine has the 2.4.

Probably my favorite thing about the truck is I average between 26 to 28 mpg on a tank of gas. End up with a little over 700 miles of range

I don’t know your size, but my 2015 Tacoma was relatively inexpensive and just keeps going. They have their quirks but last forever.
Quirks-
Fuel mileage sucks
Not for large frame people. I’m 5’10” 195lbs and I’m comfy in it.
Pro’s-
Lasts forever
Lasts forever
( not at the moment) relatively inexpensive.

This^^^^^^^^! If I had unlimited funds I would scratch out a OBS Ford rust free and rebuild the entire truck from one end to the other. Crew ca, short bed, Dana 60 front and power stroke or idi but hard to find a good fresh idi engine. Then a bullet proof ranger or S10 from the 80s. I want something newer but I'm debt free and intend on staying that way for now since kids start college year after next.

The last full-size truck I owned a dodge ram 1500 4x4 with the 318 and 5 speed. I put over 400 k on it and loved it. As life changes, I then purchased a dodge dakota with the 318 V8 and automatic. Put 300 K on it. Then I switched to jeeps and recently both my wife and I went back to a PU. She purchased a Jeep Gladiator Sport S and the following year I purchased a Gladiator Rubicon fully loaded. We both have owned jeeps since 2007 and have been very happy with our current trucks.

Dodges are discount trucks, when you can't afford anything else...lol
I've owned 20 new Chevrolets over the years, that last being a Tahoe LTZ about 4 years ago. Mostly pickups. My last purchase was a Ram Laramie. It rides better than the LTZ. Is quieter than the LTZ has more power than the the LTZ and cost more than the LTZ. They aren't the same trucks they used to be.

I'm looking for a new full size P/U truck.

Who's got a new one .... how do you like it and what did you have before.

I am leaning towards a Tundra or a GMC Sierra, but have not done any research as of yet.

Lemme' know

Thanks
So after 5 pages what have you learned...the same thing you'll learn after another 5 pages of posts; that everyone one thinks that the one they own now is the bestest .........

If you paint it like you do the stocks I really want to see it, My Ford is likely to become a Redneck Hippie RV at least a cabover

I'm in the market for a new truck as well. I have a 2006 Chevy 2500 Duramax (LBZ) I bought new that now has 155K miles on it. It's been an excellent truck and still is. I've looked at everything and can't decide since the the price of trucks have become stupid expensive. Some things that concern me are:

1) Chevy fuel management and the engine issues it creates to make better MPG
2) I don't want a V6 in a full-size truck (Was looking at a Tundra until this)
3) Diesels have too much smog equipment on them
Delete everything you can, and keep it

If you buy a 3/4-1 ton truck and expect to average more than 15-17 mpg you’re only fooling yourself. I went from a 2011 3/4 ton GMC 6.0 gasser that averaged 12.5-13 to a 2021 1 ton Silverado dually that averages around 15.9 running 80 down the interstate and 15 around the TX hill country.

I bought 5 new vehicles in my life and all 5 were used in a business to make a living. I actually hate new vehicles and high priced used vehicles. I bought a lot in the 80's, built a house, paid for it in by the 90's for half the price of what I can buy a tricked out to the max Suburban for today. Vehicles, homes, and boats. They are either for those who have money to spend at will (and not miss it) or for people who sign on as slaves in order to buy more than they can afford. It is highly possible that our current economic state may demonstrate that this way of life is like froth on a glass of beer that disappears and goes flat.

Please excuse my puke this morning and feel free to rant back at me.

On a related note, I just watched a “news” story about the high price of concert tickets. They had a giggling 16-20? Year old girl on ubloob telling how she paid $6000 for Taylor Swift tickets. That’s just insane. This country is going to hell in a handbasket!
