Who else needs a haircut really bad? ***Updated***

I'm going for that "Dilbert's boss" look. Since I have a bald spot center line, a month overdue for a cut, my flat top is looking like two mountains with a shiny valley between. Not bad enough yet to hand the clippers to any kin. Too vulnerable for a payback of some sort

Wahl trimmers
Skin the sides with no gaurd and use a number 1 on top. Chin gets a 1.5 or a 2
Do it every 10 yo 14 days.

It’s about time for me to peel mine down to the hide anyway. I accuse my barber of putting toilet water on me years ago, making my hair fall out over time. He charges by the head, I told him he should be getting paid by the square inch on some of us, lol.

Update: I simply couldn't stand it any longer, so I broke out the clippers and got after it.

The "bad" news - it ended up as a sort of hybrid between a mohawk and a severe lawn mower accident. It also seems much colder outside than it did an hour ago.

The "good" news - I almost always wear a ball cap; a factor that weighed heavily in my decision to attempt it in the first place. Also, there is no doubt in my mind that we will be well and truly past the pandemic before it grows out sufficiently to be repaired by a professional. ;)

I'm beginning to look like a dandelion right before the seeds go flying. I'm about 3 weeks overdue because of this flu pandemic.

I did buy a Wahl set from Amazon, but so far I've been walking around it without using it. I guess if I screw up too bad I can always wear a baseball cap.

This one has colors for the different sizes. I'm working up to it.

Wife cut my hair Sunday, with this. I am wearing a hat indoors these days. It looks like she used a angry Squirrel.

Putures, pictures!

In the 60’s we’d get drug to “The Chair” kicking and screaming, “No, take him!” I grew up in family farm country. Everyone’s parents would let the boys grow their hair during the summer. However everyone showed up the first day at school with whitewalls! That’s what we called the pale skin around our ears, that hadn’t gotten sun over the summer. High school in the 70’s, I would get it cut to shoulders, then I was good for 6-9 months. It would be half way down my back. I continue to have a full head of hair, even though both my brothers lost their hair in the 80’s. I just took the electric clipper to my head less than 2 weeks ago. It’s the shortest my hair has been in 50 years.

PICTURES , OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN..LOL

I must not be domesticated, I didn’t know men had their hair cut this often. This thread has opened my eyes. I usually only get one buzz off every 6months and let er grow again. So, all looks normal round here lol

I head down to the barber every 2 weeks for a #1 on the sides and nice and tight on top, metro man and all that I suppose but I cant stand it when my hair starts doing its own thing.

Well finally got hot tuesday and decided to give myself a trim before the wife got home. Head feels great now, but wife lost it when she saw me. Now she has made me facebook famous by sharing the pic of the back of my head which is really hard to get straight by yourself. But i figured id cut it all to one guard now. Hope everyone enjoys the laugh.

Just shave it with a no-clip (no spacer) and call it good. Try on a skull cap after. They stick like velcro which is perfect for cold weather.

Started doing it nearly 30 years ago. Took a break for a while but then got tired of having to go lay down $20+ bucks every couple of weeks for a 10 minute cut. Five minutes every weekend and life is good. Just stay away from the eyebrows and hooch (helps stay away from the eyebrows).
