Who Can Tune Beam Scales? BESIDES SCOTT PARKER

I have tried to contact Scott Parker through e-mail with no luck. I’ve read other threads where his communication skills and lead time are less than stellar, so I’m not going to pursue that headache. All very disappointing because of all the great feedback on Scott’s fine job he does tuning the scales.

So, is there anyone else that tunes beam scales that has a good reputation?

I tuned my own 10-10. Dropping a half kernel H4350 will cause movement of the beam. All about friction.

The scale has to be level to start with, I use countertop plastic with 3 leveling screws for the base.
Then look at every friction point. Use a fine stone to clean up the pivot points.

Boyd Allen’s posts on scales helped immensely, too.

You can pay for it with time or money. Why not just cut the line and buy a fx120?

Myself and many others have been served well. You could have one by the end of next week. Spend a little extra and get the trickler. You wont regret it once you see how quickly you can load shells, with great accuracy.

Just my .02
these are true words, if the fx is in your budget, after you get it (with the trickler:D) you will say its the best money you spent on your reloading equipment. good luck;). bryant

I had Scott tune a scale for me about 3 years ago. It took about 3-4 months, I'm not sure exactly. About 3 weeks ago the scale wasn't working properly and I contacted him to see if he could suggest something that I could do to fix it. He wanted me to send it to him so he could look at it. A few days later I received a message that (I forget the name of it) the chingaderas copper thingy that rides between the magnets was bent and rubbing. He had it back to me a few days later - about 3 weeks from the day I mailed it. AND he wouldn't take any payment! Excellent service if you ask me.
I don't know about all of the negativity about him because I've never had anything but good experiences with him. I do know that his scales are sought after for a reason - because they honestly are 1 kernel sensitive.
I hope that everyone gets the kind of service I did from now on. He seems like a good guy to me.

The scale end of things is a minor side line for him. He has a family and a full time career in addition to the scale biz. Give the guy a break, he does the best he can.

I have a system that works great at home. I just want a good beam scale to take places that don't have power. It's nice to not worry about batteries.

I know and trust Parker tuned scales it will be worth the wait!

Scott’s tuned scales show up on the classifieds from time to time. The OP might try posting a Want Ad. I’m not sure how to verify they were actually tuned by S Parker since he didn’t mark mine in any way that I can tell.
I have one also with no markings that I'm going to sell but without paperwork or "something" there is no way I'd sell it as a SP tuned scale. I really can't see the "big difference" that others speak of.

I have no dog in this fight at all. HOWEVER are you stating 2017? Or May 17th?
If it's the former you should win the Patience of the Year Award.
Umm.... That post you referred too was made nearly 2-1/2 two years ago. Still a patience award needed, but not particularly relevant today.

I know this is an old thread but I would be glad to help remedy this situation

How or rather why do these 4 year old threads that’s are no longer relevant get brought back to life?.... Just asking for a friend!....

P.S
Parker does excellent scale work!... everyone knows he has long turn around times!... don’t send him your scales if you need them in a hurry!
