Which Teslong Borescope?

Ok guys, I need some advice. I bought the $49.95 model not realizing that it won't work with my Apple phone. I have a amazon fire laptop, but it doesn't have a USB port.
What tablet or laptop do I need to get so I can us this borescope?
Thanks in advance,

Lloyd

I use a cheapo Lenovo 10 tablet I got on sale from wally world, runs Android os, use it for the Teslong and in camera mode with the beam scale.

Thanks @jpx2rk
I'm looking at the refurbished items on amazon, but don't have a clue as to what I need. I don't want to drop a bunch of coin on something that will be dedicated to the Teslong. So your saying anything that uses the Android OS and has a USB port will work?
Thanks,

Lloyd

Lloyd, I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, my understanding is it will work. This is the route I'm going to go. I will be ordering mine soon.

I can't say the Teslong will operate with "any" android OS device, there have been some comments by some people of having difficulty in getting their Teslong to work with their device. I had to download a couple different apps to get mine to function, one app was OTG or GTG that I needed but it now works. I have to use the USB to Type C (??) connector on my tablet as it does not have a USB port, only the power cord connection (micro c port ??) and that is where I plug my Teslong connector in, open the app, and I have a picture. Look thru the various Teslong threads for my comments, I think I mentioned the specs of my tablet in one of them.

I was curious what the price range is for a cheaper tablet like you mentioned. I’m pretty lost on these things, my wife just handed me my I-Pad and said you need to learn how to use it lol! A tablet dedicated to the cheaper Teslong might be the way to go.

Here is what I use for both my Teslong and my target camera. I bought it at Amazon for $99 and it works great for me.

Mine is a Lenovo TAB 10 IIRC but I got on it on sale/clearance for like $65 a couple yrs ago. I got it primarily for the camera function to use with a beam scale.

I don't have a Fire laptop, but if you notice, the Teslong adapter, used for the "USB C" type connection on newer phones and such, on the borescope comes off. The end of the cable then reveals a standard HDMI and flipping one side of the connector up reveals a plug for the older style charging/accessory ports (USB). I'm pretty sure that there is a way to directly transfer data from a computer to your Fire. I'm guessing that the port for that is either a USB or a USB-C port. Choosing the correct configuration on your Teslong should allow you to plug in. Now, just how it will work, I can't tell you but hope this gives you some ideas. I have had success connecting to Android phones (Samsung S9), Windows 7, 10 and Chromebooks.

OK guys,
I went out and bought a Samsung Galaxy 8" yesterday then spent most of the day trying to get the Teslong to work. I've tried several different apps with nothing but grief. Then I drag out my Amazon fire and the connection to the Teslong fits! Thanks @SSL
The camera lights up, but I have no picture. What do I need to do? Is there an app that I need to download?
Lloyd

Possibly the OTG or "on the go" app for android. I had to download that app for mine to work, the tablet reminds me to open it everytime I plug the Teslong into it.

Try the one called Endoscope Camera (not the HD version) . That one seems to work with more devices than any of the HD apps.
Good luck.

So far I'm batting -0-.
None of the apps on either the Fire or the Galaxy work. The light on the Teslong come on when I plug it in but nothing else. May be unit is bad??

Ok guys, what am I missing here? I bought a 2nd Teslong in hopes that the first one is defective. I have downloaded 4 different apps on my Samsung Galaxy and Amazon fire, including GTG. The light comes on, but no picture. The devices recognizes the camera, but that's it. In desperation I plugged it in to my desktop running Windows 7 and get the same result. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any help,

Lloyd

On your Windows 7, select the program for your chat camera. Depending on your specific release, there should be a way to switch between the laptop camera and the Teslong. May say something like "external camera" or "endoscope camera". Just donated my old Windows 7, so don't have one to try now. Did work for me. Don't know about the Galaxy but my Chromebooks just need to open "camera" app and choose endoscope.

I’ve done everything you said, but get no picture. The Galaxy will actually make the sound of taking a picture, but the screen is black. So frustrating!
