Which scope for 600 yd F Class?

Hey everyone, it's time to pick the collective brain of accurateshooters haha

I just finished building up my midrange F Class rifle - Kelbly's Atlas with a .223 Wylde 27" Hawk Hill 1:7

I am at the point of deciding on glass and am a bit torn between the following:
  • Delta Stryker 5-50x56 (top pick other than CS being out of Poland - heard the reticle is pretty thin and non illuminated)
  • The new Athlon Ares ETR UHD 15-50x60 (very new model for them, might need some refining after initial release)
  • Trijicon TenMile 5-50x56 (really wish they had the floating dot in MOA)
  • Sightron - I want to want one, but I can't seem to find the right mix of features (floating dot, 1/8 MOA, zero stop, illumination)
My main considerations are glass quality with an astigmatism, available elevation travel so I can have a clear and effective zero at 100 and 600 yards (it is going on a 20 MOA rail - ballistics show around 14 MOA drop between 100 and 600 yards), hash mark reticle with floating dot would be ideal, I suppose I could live without the floating dot but holdover hash marks are a necessity. Illuminated would be nice for the black F Class targets on darker days.

Is there anything I'm missing? What would you recommend? I've watched just about every review video and read every review post out there on all of those options, and everything has its pros/cons. Any and all input is much appreciated.

NF Comp, Kahles 1050, Vortex Golden Eagle and quite a few March models. All 4 also have floating dot reticles. There are far more NF Comp’s and Golden Eagles on the line than anything else. But I’m seeing more March all the time.

Not many guys worry about illumination. Unless you have a serious vision problem I wouldn’t worry about it. Older NF NSX 12x42 and 8x32 NSX, NF BR series, Trijicon are all illuminated.

Thanks for the feedback, I forgot to mention in the post that I'm trying to stay around $2k. The Kahles is very intriguing but a bit rich.

NF Comps can had used for under $2K. I haven’t checked lately but last week there were a few in the classifieds here. And Golden Eagles show up frequently for $1200-$1400. Both have great warranty’s used. The GE glass is a step down from The NF but their ECR-1 reticle on the GE is really nice.

A used March around $2500-$2800 or Khales $2200-$2500 used for your premium scopes.

You also need to make sure you can make weight with any of theses scopes for TR.

I'm with you, like only a floating dot center.
The Trijicon Tenmile is almost the same scope as the Delta Stryker.
Really great glass for the money, as good as the others.
I've had 3, 2 in MOA and one in the Mrad.
I've kept the Mrad cause of the floating dot reticle.
One click is equal to .18 movement with the mrad compared to .125 in the MOA
The MOA retile is a bit thicker, F class John used one for awhile till the
March Majesta came out.
The NF comp might not have the best hold-offs for F class, it will work. (DDR-2)
The NF comp (FCR-1) is good, just doesn't have a floating dot center.
The Golden Eagle ( ECR-1 )will dim at anything above 40x, still a nice scope.
The Sightrons S111 10-50x60 have good glass, just as you mentioned, need a better
floating dot reticle. They missed the boat with their new 10-60x56 scope only good out
to 300 yds.

goldeneagle is not bad. I was shooting x60 magnification without problems.
Delta stryker is solid value for money.
If youcan bump your budget to 3k- consider kahles or march. Kahles is very bright and very reliable. March- the same.
 
One more question, what does your rifle weigh?
Remember everything counts to making weight 18 lbs.

I'm normally an MOA guy but have also considered going MIL on the Trijicon if that's the one I select. Glad to know I'm not the only one! Thanks for all the input and info
 
For midrange F-Class you may not need stadia lines in your glass. The target rings are in MOA, so you can use the target lines to hold off for most corrections you might need in midrange (assuming you're using heavy bullets, and have adequate velocity). X line is 1/4 MOA from center, 10 line is 1/2 MOA from center, 9 line is 1 MOA from center, etc. Also agree with @swd above about MOA being most closely aligned with F-Class. Good luck!
 
My nickname isn’t One Eye Pete because I have great eyesight. I’m legally blind in one eye and the other one isn’t exactly an eagle eye. I shoot F-Open at a club level but I am rated a high master at long rang. But that’s all relative I probably wouldn’t fare to well in a national match.
Both of my rifles have Sightron SVSSED 10-50x60 scopes with an illuminated MOA-H reticle (I have never used the illuminated reticle in competition). I had a Nightforce Competition with the FCR-1 reticle but it was too fine for my old eyes and hard to see on the big black target center So I traded it for one of the Sightrons. The Sightron MOA reticle has fairly heavy easy to see lines, hashmarks and a center dot. When conditions get bad (sun glare or mirage) and it’s hard to see the target rings this reticle makes it easy to bracket the black target center with the hash marks. That saved my butt on more than one occasion. The problem with the Sightron SV and the Trijicon Ten Mile (which in my opinion is a really great scope) is that they are HEAVY. Not a big problem in F-Open but not great for F T/R.
I also have a Vortex Golden Eagle. I use it on my short range benchrest gun. It’s a good scope bot the center of the reticle is very fine and it isn’t great at the higher powers (above 45x).
I have a Khales 1050 great scope but expensive unless you can find one used like I bought mine, but you’ll still pay more than K$2.0.
In your case as long as your eyes can tolerate a fine reticle I would go with the Nightforce Competition with the FCR-1 reticle. Excellent glass, reticle has hashmarks so you can bracket the black target center in bad conditions and it’s lightweight. You can probably get one used for around $2K. Downside it doesn’t have a center dot and isn’t illuminated. Out to 600 yards the Sightron Slll 10-50 with the MOA2 reticle would also be good. The glass isn’t as good as the Nightforce above 45x and it isn’t illuminated either but it is a good easy to see reticle and it is affordable. Right now the Sightron is also on sale and their customer service is excellent.
As far as MOA or Mills I am strictly a MOA person and almost everyone I shoot F-Class with uses a MOA scope with 1/8 MOA clicks.
