Which reamers for 6.5-284 & 6br

I got back from the F-Class Nationals Monday, shot like a pig) and promptly decided to see how far I could go into debt.

Called Tom Dixon ordered a new BAT action, turned around called Tim North ordered two 6.5 bbls and one 6mm bbl.

Which reamers do I order from Dave Kiff? Which are winning, do you have to shoot tight necks, etc ? Which is best a straight a 6BR or Dasher or another variant.

I am new to this, so please be as specific as possible in with your suggestions.

Also who would you use to put the gun together, which stock would you use.

Thanks in advance for your help, .

Chuck -- I have a 294nk 6.5-284 reamer that works well with a plain ole redding sizer if you want to save money and rent my reamer ;)

.294 lets you turn to .291 loaded round and completely clean up lapua necks.

It has 4 chambers on it...

for the BR, mine will be a .272 no turn neck with .113" freebore for the heavy bullets

Cheers,
Jason

Jason,

Thanks for the offer to use your reamer. I really need to buy both reamers. My partner and I are doing four 6.5 and two 6br tubes.

Who did you get your reamers from and what are their part numbers?

Thanks,
Chuck

Cant tell you that, because i bought it from John Hoover and from what i gather it was similar to his chamber but with a .294 nk instread of the .296

THis was an in between i think before he decided on his final dims

I got one of John Hoovers 6.5-.284 reamers. It is a carbon copy of what he is shooting. Henrickson Tool Co. is who made his reamer. It has a .296 neck and has throat built in for 142 SMK's. John may have some reamers available for sale, or contact Henrickson at,541) 535 - 2309 in Oregon. I normally use Pacific Reamers by Dave Kiff but this is who grond the Hoovers.
