I'm wanting to ream a new barrel in 6BR Norma but haven't been able to find a reamer that I'm sure would suit me. I've found web sites that offer reamers to rent but they don't give specifications on neck diameter or throat lengths. Does anyone know where this sort of information would be available from a reamer rental outfit? I'm wanting to chamber a no-turn neck,.271")and free bored for the mid-range to heavy bullets. Thanks.

I think Dave's "match grade" reamer will suit you. It is spec'd for a .272" neck with .113" throat to shoot the 90-107gr bullets. It is made by ECT, a subsidiary of Pacific Tool, and is available from MidwayUSA for $105. Dave hand-finishes each of these reamers.

Read the article on 6BR reamers by Dave Kiff, linked from the home page. Custom reamer is $138. Note Midway is selling a .272" reamer, throated for the 100-105gr bullets, that is hand-finished by Dave himself. Price is $105 currently.

Thanks for the replys. I've been to the one suggested web site and looked at their list of reamers. They have a nice selection of reamers but they don't give out all of the neck or freebore dimensions from what I could see. I did read Dave's article and have thought about the Midway deal but the freebore is too long for what I want. I have E-mailed several of the rental outfits asking for dimensions and hope for a reply. A custom reamer may be in order if a rental can not be found.

Does anyone have experiece with a reamer for the 105gr Berger VLD. I have over ten thousand bullets and am about to build a rifle to shoot them. I'm thinking the lead should be shorter than what is used for 107gr Sierras.

Lead of 0.06 is OK, JGD reamer / Norma original ) can works fine
All 105/107 are long bullet with long bearing surface even if secant ogive are not the same as tangent ogive can works from 0.06 to 0.1
but better is to seat out a bit, 0.08 ) to avoid donut area. You'll need a .08" throat or longer to do that.

Will the reamer that Midway sells,.113 free bore) handle the new Tubb 115 gr. bullets?

Handle bullet yes, handle bullet without bullet in donut area, no. The 115 DTAC has the ogive .046" forward of a SMK 107.
6 BR is a long neck case so you can easy seat out the bullet as soon as you keep 1 caliber,.244") as value in the neck to get good centering / seating force or neck tension

Mna55--the reamer Dave Kiff sells will handle all bullets from 70 grains to 107 grains.
Krxm21--the Dave Kiff reamer for the Sierra 107's will work just fine with those Berger 105's. I have shot about 800 of them through my guns without any problems.
Dubya--I just got an e-mail from Henry Childs who helped Tubb design the 115's.The 107 being used as a standard he gets 0.046 longer for the 115 Tubb and 0.076 longer for the 108 Euber using a 0.236 diameter at the leade angle. I would personaly prefer a little more than 0.004 in front of the "donut" but i am still going to to give them a try. I shot the 108 Eubers in the same chamber and accuracy was good but velocity fell off due to the bullet being seated into the powder. Your throat will grow over time and if you use a K-M neck turner with the Carbide Donut Cutter i don't see any problems.
