Which New Barrel

My 22-250 barrel is shot out. This was my second Lilja barrel. What do you shooters think my next barrel should be. I need suggestions. Thanks for the input. I want a 1-14 twist because I shoot 52gr bullets.

The initial cost of the barrel is a little more but I'd try one of the new Bartlein 400modbb barrels as testing is showing them to last longer. But, a standard stainless Bartlein, Krieger, Brux, or Hart would be a top choice as well.

Also, I'd go at least 12tw instead of 14 so you have the option to shoot the 53gr Vmax or some of the higher BC 60 grainers.

Yes try a Bartlein 12 twist. I love my Lilja 12t barrels.

I would say which barrel manufacturer to use would depend on what you are using the rifle for.

There are several suppliers that don't have the reputation of Bartlein, etc., but provide well sub MOA, Preferred Barrel Blanks, Criterion, McGowen, X Caliber are a few that come to mind.

youll be happy with many of these barrels mentioned. you may want to check on what is available and when depending on when you want it.

No, i don't care if your Grandfather's, friends, cousin's room mate had an issue with them in 1920.
They have done right by me!

Having said that, however. My next barrel is going to be a Douglas.

If you're happy with the way it has been shooting with the Lilja barrels, I'd be tempted to order another one just like you have. If you change to another maker or twist etc, you might have to spend a lot more time and materials and getting it to shoot the way you want. Of course if you want to change things, this is the time. Lots of really great barrels out there. JME. WD

I bought a Criterion barrel from Northland shooters supply. I am very pleased.

I put together a LH Savage with a 1-12 twist SS Shilen Select Match from Northland and it shoots great with Sierra 55gr Gamekings. Actually it's shot everything tried in it very well.

When it comes to barrels most of the big names are fine, but I always use Bartlein. The people are super to deal with and they can/will help you with any questions you have.

Assuming it's the same rifle/barrel, it might well be a Rem700 that the OP posted about in early 2020. Rem 700, Lilja 26" 1:14 twist.

I shoot a Rem700 in 22-250 1 in 14 twist with a Jewel trigger and currently a Lilja 26" barrel 1 1/8 in diameter. It will soon be time for a new barrel because barrels only last me about 2500 rds. I shoot 5 shot groups at 100 yds and almost all of them are under 1/2" I have shot 16 sub 1/4"...

This is my second Lilja barrel and I was wonder about opinions on other barrels. I am considering Hart, Krieger, or Bartlein. Any opinions would be appreciated.
