Where to start on reloads for a 6BR?

Barrel is a 1-13.5 bartlein. I have 66 grn barts, 68 grn berger and 70 SMK. For powder I have varget, 8208, H4895, benchmark, and BL-C2. Brass is lapua fired once and NSed with a redding bushing for .002 neck tension. I fire formed with 8208 and 68 berger, 10 thou jump, mediocre accuracy. I bought the 8208 for this rifle but since I bought a pound of it I have heard some rumblings about it being overhyped and finicky. What seems to be a popular powder for these bullet weights? Thanks in advance

Benchmark works great for me with 70 SBK's, but I'm kind of lazy and try to use it for all my varmint shooting.

I have a factory Savage barrel in 1-12 twist. Have tried H322 and Varget, for these bullet weights and fairly consistently Varget is the better performer. The Berger 68 is the best for accuracy to date, with a 0.010" jam.

I have some loaded up with 33.5 grn varget; .010 jam, kissing the rifling, and .020 jump. I have data on the .010 jump, not bad considering the mirage that day, about 3/8", looked like it wanted to shoot. The 8208 load this day was about twice the size it was the first day I tried it, if it was due to mirage that 33.5 varget and .010 jump might be pretty could. RonAKA where are you at on your varget load as far as charge weight?

With the Berger 68 grain, 34.4 grains of Varget is giving about 3420 for velocity and quite good accuracy.

I use 29.6 of h-322 with an arnette 68 grain flat base and it performs excellent.

Tried the varget loads today and it was so-so, 3 in a hole and two thrown out everytime. Started to wonder about bedding but everything is stress free and looks good according to my mk 1 eyeball and my smith. Tried 30.2 benchmark and 68 berger jumping .010, bingo .239". Also had the same load but with 66 barts at .010 jump .187". I beleive I will start playing with OAL with the benchmark loads and try to see what it will really do. Cheers

In the light stuff I go for Benchmark in the 70 plus I use Varget. Both give outstanding accuracy when tuned right. Benchmark might need more load tuning depending on conditions you face. It meters very well though so good for bulk loading and varmint shooting etc.
