For years we've all been taking "base to ogive" measurements. Seating bullets ti ogive measurements instead of COAL.
My factory seating dies all contact the bullet at about %50 of diameter, maybe less.
Where should it contact?
What is the optimal contact location?
I don't mean where does it. I know that. Across brands it's at %50 ish of diameter. Is that "best" if we are not measuring seating depth to that location?
Well here is a.pic of a berger hybrid in a wilson seater stem. As you can see it is.nowhere near the ogive.
Sorting bullets base to ogive has no impact on cartrige base to ogive.
The greatest effect is the quality or consistency of.the bullets. It is the consistency from the ogive to the bullet tip.
Neck tension can contribute especially heavy neck tension in a press with play.
With berger bullets, wilson inline seater and arbor press my cbto does not vary
