Consistent bullet seating depth, and why can't we seat off the ogive?

I have 2 different lots of 107 smk, and they measure different from base to ogive.

But I don't have to adjust my die any between the 2 lots because it sits them to the same Cartridge Base to bullet ogive measurement.

That suggests they all have the same ogive profile, and the distance between your CBTBO measurement bushing's contact point, and the seater stem's contact point, are consistent. What would be variable between the lots is the calculated net case capacity.

Correct. The difference in final coal base to tip is 0.025" - 0.030" tho the base to ogive is the same.

Forgot to mention, one lot is from 1996' and the other is from 2016' !

Buy a bench type Super Micrometer or other gauge capable of measuring to about 50 millionths and cull/sort your bullets.
Match shooters have to sort .22 LR ammo. There is no reason you cannot sort 5000 bullets and pull out the 500 most uniform bullets in one pile and put the worst bullets in another pile. Shoot groups with both piles of bullets. You will have an answer when you get through. You may not like it but you will have an answer.

Ireload2, how do rimfire folks measure to sort their bullets?
Only thing I've ever seen is a gauge by which you can measure rim thickness.

Or ordering a brick of several candidates, shoot some from each then hope you can buy CASES of the brand & batch that shoots the best!
