Where can I get a 284 Winchester Modified Case???

As the title says. I am need of a modified case in 284 Winchester to fit the Hornady overall length guage. Does anyone know where I can get one?

Hornady offers them. I got one many years ago from MidwayUSA. You can also make your own with a drill bit and tap.

You can buy the tap and a drill bit pretty cheap. It is really better to use one of your sized cases.

+1 use your own fire formed case and a 5/16 x 36 tap.

I think you can even send a case into Hornady and they'll tap it for you.

Just wanted to give an update. I found out that Copper Creek Cartridge Co. will make a 284 Win modified case. I ordered it Sunday evening and received it Wednesday. It is made with Norma Brass. $11.00 shipped.

I appreciate all of the offers to help me make a modified case and some even offered to loan me there modified case to use.

I thought I would check and see if any member has a "284 Winchester Modified Case Gauge" they would sell?

I was "totally" shocked when I found out Hornady quit making these cases!

I know Hornady will make one, I am hoping to find one "ready for shipment".

Far better to drill and tap one of your own fired cases. It's a little tough to do for 5.56, but with care it works out. I use the lathe to hold everything in line. I would really like to use this gauge for .17, but cases aren't big enough to drill and tap.
