When is a 6br not enough?

I would go with the 6.5x284, 6.5x47Lapua, or the 7mm Mag, or 7mm SUAM...all of these will do well in all conditions and better in windy conditions...the 7mms will have longer barrel life.

The 7mm Mag has better barrel life than a 6.5x47? I don't think so myself.

for 600-1200yard shooting only one gun comes to mind for a great combination of all things us shooters like. the .284 easy on recoil great bullet selection and wind fighting capability's 2000-3000 round barrel life and off the shelf parts availible all day. In the last 2 years I have tried a 6br, 243AI, 6.5X284, 260, .284, 300win, 300WSM, 300RUM at 1000 yard silhouette shooting. I have found that my two favorites are the .284 for most days and for bad conditions the 300RUM. if the recoil is an issure the .284 is fine for all I just like any edge I can get.
