Same reason Chevy 350s are what most people use in race cars... Their cheap because their plentiful , their plentiful because their cheap... There's plenty of high dollar stuff out there that's tons better but you can get a 350 block out of a junk yard , bore it , clean it up and make a pretty decent little motor.... Other brands have better things design wise than Chevy and Chevy has better things in their design than others... Unfortunately if you want the best of all of them combined in one then you buy aftermarket purpose built stuff which is neither cheap or plentiful... It might even look like a 350 but absolutely nothing in a modern aftermarket block is built by Chevy and they are not even in the same league... Same thing goes for aftermarket clone actions , it may look and act like a stock Remington action but it definitely is not nor is it made by Remington... A good Remington clone action will cost you more than a new Remington rifle...don't be a remington hater 700s are great rifles shot them all my life everyone I've owned shot great the only rem I ever had that shot bad was a model 7 I shot tikas wasn't impressed with them just my opinion if rems were junk why is everyone cloning them just my 2 cents.
