Whats the most Fur Friendly 6mm bullet?

For what it's worth, I have used the 58 grain vmax going about 3000 fps [not perfectly sure about velocity because my notebook isn't right in front of me] out of a 6mm×45 to great effect. Most of the time no exit on broadside and even on really little skinny summer dogs, index finger sized exit hole and heart can't be identified in the mess.

I've used the 50 grain Speer soft point in .223 and assume its 6mm counterpart is pretty good. They've a little harder jacket, so you usually get an exit, but it's always a pinhole.

75 grain Speer Hollowpoint varmint was very effective never had an exit hole, but it lacked in BC for my little 6×45 rig.

75 grain vmax was chooching about 2850 to 2900 fps and did very well. Pinhole exit in ribs, fist sized exit in gut paunch.

If you hit them in the shoulder it floored them and no exit with any of the above.

No matter what bullet [other than maybe 5mm and .17"] you're eventually gonna do a little sewing.

Happy shooting pardner.

One trick that helped me with stands was ranging the entire setup before hand and knowing what you're at before they come in and surprise you. But it's been my experience if you can get them to 400yd or so it's a guarantee with any of the 75 and 87 grain shit.

Shot a lot of dogs out of farmer fields off the highway too, and they don't seem to care that you had to range them when they're mousing fields. So it can still be done below 3000fps.
