Whats the best single stage press...

My benchrest brass i deprime with a harvey deprimer at the range. Wipe.the cases down with ballistol while others are.posting targets or while waiting for.my barrel to cool. Then it is ready to load up again.

For the rest.i have a little partner press and lee universal depriming.die bolted.to a.picnic table in the back yard and deprime.there.

No mess no fuss.

If you aren't using your Classic Cast to prime, just make a piece of key steel to seal up the primer ram slot and epoxy it in, then it will catch all the spent primers;).

That is exactly what I was going to do, BUT I bought a Co-Ax and my Classic Cast is in mothballs, at least for now.

... with a spent primer catcher that actually works ?

REALLY TIRED of my Rockchucker sending primers all over my bench and floor.

Or is there an aftermarket primer catcher for the RCBS?

You may be interested in this. Please note that it will not work on older rock chuckers.

I had problems with my old rock chucker spilling primers until I removed the priming arm while I was sizing/depriming. Now all the spent primers go into the catcher,

How about the LEE presses ? I don't own one but just wondering...…..
I have a 4 hole turret Lee, rarely loose a primer. It’s a very under rated press. I do not use the auto advance, priming, or powder measure functions, just a manual turret setup. I just use it for handgun loads though.

I attached a clear hose to the primer catch tube on my Co-Ax. I run it down to a clear plastic juice jug (so I can see when it fills up). It takes about a year for me to fill up the jug.

Nice bench setup.

I sold my Rockchucker forty years ago. Now I have a pair of Lee Cast Classic turret presses on the bench. I hate the tube hanging down under the press, I hang a 2# coffee can under the presses, it is handy to toss bad brass in also. I keep a Lyman Crusher on the bench for major case forming and a Lyman Jr turret press set up with four different Lee Quick Trims in it.

I guess the question should have included "available". Because any discussion that don't list the RCBS A2 press is not complete. My A2 is as slick and tight as a fine watch and I have not seen a better press. They are hard to fine but if you find one get it, if you don't let me know cause I will. My vote, RCBS A2.
