Whats the best single stage press...

... with a spent primer catcher that actually works ?

REALLY TIRED of my Rockchucker sending primers all over my bench and floor.

Or is there an aftermarket primer catcher for the RCBS?

I love the primer catching system on my Redding T7 turret press I don’t know if there single stage has the same if it does can’t go wrong with it, I feel your pain with the rock chucker I love mine but not for depriming!

I own a rockchucker also and that is the only thing i can think of that I don’t like about it!!!Got a Redding boss also that has the clear tube under the ram that catches primers and it works great.I deprime independently with rcbs deprime die on the reddinng.Cant have enough presses anyway lol.I also think I’ve seen sumin about a afternarket up grade for RC but cant remember where I seen it...

The older RCBS -RS- & JR have a primer tray that actually works coupled with a good linkage makes these old presses very popular in my neck of the woods.

First let me say that I am a RCBS fan & my bench is almost all green! But frustrated at picking up spent primers off the floor I ditched my Rockchucker Supreme & bought a MEC Marksman. Great press & it catches all the primers!

I have one from a company called Primercatcher. They have added a number of new products since I've purchased mine. The website is quite busy, but mine is still available, rock chucker supreme.
made with a 3D printer. Mine works very well, not perfect but catches about 95% of the primers, has a tube with a plug on it that holds the primers until ypu pull the plug.

I too have a RCBS JR perhaps 45-50 years of age, that came with a clever primer catcher shaped like a cup which wrapped around the area of the ram and would catch all of the primers. I do not understand why that was discontinued.

Agreed,
I can’t understand why people change up a good thing.

I deprime on a Lee Breech Lock Reloader Press, and that's all I use it for -- keeps my Redding Big Boss free of the primer dust.
It drops a few, but if I don't go too fast, it does a nice job.
Only annoying thing is the press has to be removed from the bench to get the spent primers out.

I love my MEC Marksman. It's very compact and I appreciate how little space it takes up on the bench.
