What's everyone shooting this year for deer?

I'm going to be using my .300 SAUM for muleys and elk.

This load shoots just under 1/2 MOA out to 500 yards. There after I don't know but don't plan to shoot anywhere past 400 anyways.

If I get to go to a rifle hunting state, I'll likely shoot my custom 30 Major AR. I'm shooting a Speer or Nosler 125 gr bullet at about 2600 FPS. It's an accurate little puppy. Light and handy too. It has a brake, so it kicks about like an unbraked 223.

Shot some winchester factory power max at 150 gr for a 30 06. Extremely accurate.....what an eye opener for a factory load. Cheap too.

Using my 8 twist .220 Swift with 75 A-Max out of my stand first day for some nice long shots if necessary. After first day I go to my lite weight .270 M70 Winchester for a walking rifle...

260 rem. 120 berger hp boatail I shot a mule deer in Wyoming last week with this cartridge at 230 yards and the deer went straight down. Frank you swift should be a hammer on deer with the 75 gr. a-max I shot a doe a few years ago with a 22x47 lapua using the 80 gr. a-max and the deer was drt and I'm not getting near the velocity that you are getting in you swift.

I am going to use a savage rifle model 14 clone in 7-08. I have to run 120"s as it is an 11 twist barrel with a bushnell 4200 on it and it is a 6-24x40mm. It is mounted in a boyds thumbhole light weight sporter stock which I pillar bedded. It has an accutrigger which works beautifully. It shoots sub moa and better and will do the job for sure.

I have not hunted deer in a few years now. However, the 2 cartridges I shot most were: 1.) A .270 Winchester out of a Browning BBR.. It was the hammer of THOR on them. and 2.) A Remington 7-08. For all intents and purposes, it did nearly the job of the .270... Had I shot as much game with the 7-08 as I did with the .270, the outcomes may very well have been the same.. They are as good as it gets... I am sure there are others as good, however, it is doubtful any will exceed them in performance out to 400 yards..

Right now a Horton crossbow. During rifle season I am switching between a custom 25-06 built by Preacher with 115 gr. Bergers and a custom 6 Dasher chambered by Oak Ridge Gunsmithing shooting Berger 105 hunting VLDs. If I get it setup in time, may carry an AR chambered in 22-250 a time or two. For muzzle loader season an old TC Hawken 50 cal. that I put together shooting Buffalo Bullets ahead of 100 grains black powder. Now for next year rifle season, working on an AR chambered in 6 Dasher!
