What's closest to Varget

VV N-140, Alliant RL-15, even IMR 8208XBR ought to be worth trying. All serve nicely for Palma loads (155-ish 308WIN) where Varget used to be the go-to choice.

Alliant AR-Comp is supposed to be a Varget equivelent and advertised as temp stable.
I think it is a hybrid powder, extruded double base powder that performs like a single base.
I don't know for sure and I bought a pound of it to try this spring.
Might be worth looking into.
Good luck
Joe

You mean AR Comp? Auto Comp is an IMR pistol powder.

RL19 worked good for me for 60-64's, so don't be afraid to try 4350 class powders if you have some.

Have had great results with VV N140. The 8208XBR does work great with both the 155 Palma's and really great with 80 SMK's for .223.

IMR 4895 is one of the BEST powders in the 22-250 with light bullets.. As stated above, so is IMR 4064..

I don't think 60 grain Vmax qualifies as a light bullet in 22-250. I would try N140 and 4064.
