Varget is hard to buy, SOOOO

What can I use to replace Varget I'm shooting Sierra 107MK, and berger 105VLD using 28.5 of Varget for the Bergers, and 30gr. for the MK. I need a replacement powder. I can't seem to be able to purchase Varget anywhere. Any ideas?

I obtain excellent results from RL17 and the Sierra 107 in Lapua brass with Wolf KVB-5.56M. In a 30" Savage 12F at 100° f, 2908.7 avg, 7.9/4.1 ES/SD.

Well now, seems I opened a can of worms. I see a lot of "use this, use that" but no numbers. like "X" number of grains to replace the 28.5 load of varget. I understand replacement powder. Now, how about some replacement details? What do ya'all say?

It's tuff to recommend a replacement load when you don't say what Caliber, twist, case, BBL length you have.

I think its pretty clear myself. barrel lenght doesnt matter much either! Lee

Why not just buy the Varget I linked and you don't have any worries......

It almost sounds like a load for 6x39....but not sure, I never run more than 29.5grs. with the 115's and have never used any thing but Varget in it.

Shot410, I refrained from posting to this thread, but now that you found your Varget, there's something that needs to be said.
First off, I dont know what the big secret was about not posting the caliber, but you were vary rude in your reply to CJ6.
The caliber was not clear to most, and his question was relevant, plus all he was trying to do was help answer your question. But rather than simply typing in the Caliber, you chose to mock his question, I hope this is not indicative of all of your posts.
Most people on this site dont care to play guessing games when it comes to reloading.
Mike.

Mikem,
I don't see where shot410 was rude. I think you mis-read him. No need for the smack down. Maybe he just doesn't realize that without ALL the specifics, an intelligent answer cannot be formulated. You and I both know that the caliber and cartridge are important factors in determining powder selection, but maybe he doesn't. You could have told him that instead of whacking his peepee! :o

I've taken care of it (explained request for info to skeetlee in a PM) and consider the matter closed. Now let's get back to talking rifle stuff ;D
