Drum stools are the best I have found, Pawn shops selling musical supplies will have them from time to time.

I would suggest something like this Tama 1st Chair, with the solid, quick adjust Speed Nut.
You'll appreciate how quick you can be just right for every bench and rifle.

Edit: There are many good choices available. What I find most useful is the ability to make quick and simple height adjustments, when changing benches and guns a dozen times per day, without needing a tool, a key, or having to switch a through bolt, in different holes. Repeatable bench set-up is critical to shooting consistently.

I use a Drummer's Warehouse similar to the Tama above. Cost $130 at a local music store. Probably could be had online for a bit less. Three years of abuse and looks/functions like new.

Mike Ezell sold me the one I use. It is plenty strong enough to hold my 300lb carcass, adjusts quick & easy, has a backrest, nice padding, and folds down flat for transport........ ezellcustomrifles.com . Give it a look.

One detail worth mentioning is that some of the drum thrones come in two height adjustment ranges. This is not always apparent when looking at listings for sale. Before you make the investment it might be a good idea to contact the manufacturer about this .
