What would make a 100yd group open up by a factor of 5x at 200yds?

I just wanted to give a shout out to nawahine, who very kindly sent me a large selection of .22 bullets he uses and has good luck with. Such generosity is much appreciated and very helpful to someone new to a particular caliber. Thanks nawahine!!

nawahine - I know you did not expect anything in return, but there will be a little something headed your way in the next few days.

Someone may have said this already, I didn’t read all posts but I would go get a box of match ammo and shoot reference groups out of both iffy rifles and see what that reveals. 52 or 55 grain bullets that you are certain will stabilize. Match grade factory ammo is .3 moa or better in the calm.

Find a friend who shoots as well or better than you do. Preferably better. Have him give the rifles a go at these distances. If he gets the same results as you, that takes you out of the picture. If not, and he gets better results, (tighter groups at both distances, both rifles) then it is you. :)
