Can't remember make or model but it was a 22 short single shot lever action that the lever dropped a loading block on top where you loaded a round. I was probably 8 or 9 when Dad gave it to me. Shot a lot of cans and squirrels with it. Came up missing when I was around 16 or from my folk's house.

My first new gun was in 1972, a Winchester 310 .22 single shot bolt gun. Still my favorite .22.

Single shot 22lr ww2 bag gun my uncle brought home after the war.
I painted his house for it. My son has it now, then my grandson will have it someday.

My first gun given to me was a JC Hingings 12 ga pump, sold at Sears & Robuck. My uncle gave it to me for Christmas when I was 12. The first guns I bought when I was old enough was a SKS Chinese, and H& K SS USP 45. The problem is I still have the same addiction from then till now. I don’t think it’s going away anytime soon.

Winchester Model 60A in .22LR. Given to me by my father - he was given it by his uncle (original purchaser) in the early 30's. It was supposed to be a gift for my father's cousin, but before he was given it he died. I still have it. So far three grandsons and one granddaughter have learned how to shoot with it. Haven't figured out which grandkid it will go to.

Marlin 12ga pump shot gun with a hammer safety. Grandfather gave to me and took me hunting I was maybe 13.

My first firearm of my own was a Beretta 390 20 gage youth with a 24 in barrel. I still have it and often hunt with it. I added a thick recoil pad to add to the LOP and had it ported. I've made some of my best shots with it... in fact the last time I took it out I shot double on rooster pheasants and with 2 shots and the last one was a pretty good poke. I will never get rid of it and look forward to having my girls shooting it in a few years.

Western Field bolt action .410 bore shotgun. Purchased from an uncle of mine who had MS when I was 11 years old for the princely sum of $35. No telling how many rabbits and squirrels (along with a few pheasants and woodcock) that shotgun put on the table. I refinished the wood and had the barrel reblued and put it away for my first born grandson. Never got a grandson, so I gave it to another young boy a few years ago.
I ordered a WesternField pump 12gauge with the variable choke from Sears!!!! I was 14 in 69 so I paid with cash after my Dad showed his licence!!! No Federal paperwork had to be filled out in those days!!! You had to be at least 18 to purchases a firearm!!!! Ammo had no age requirements then!!!!

My wife bought me a Noble 12 gauge 3" mag pump shotgun from Alden's catalog in 68 or 9. Delivered to the door, no paperwork needed. I daresay that our Country was a bit safer place back then.

My first was a Steven single shot .22 that my parents bought from my Grandfather to give to me for Christmas. My second was a Winchester model 37 20ga that my Grandfather had bought for my Dad for his 12th birthday. It got passed on to me on my 12th birthday. I have two boys so I acquired another model 37 Winchester so I have one to give each of them.
