So Fridays are are normal (group) days to shoot. Well today we had a complete newbie with us (my new 33 year old Son in law). He's never handled a firearm before even though I've asked him a hundred times over the years to come out with us. Well today was the day he finally came out.
I brought out several different guns, rfs, centerfire, rifles and pistols. Started him off with the safety talk and then to the 22 rf 541 X at 100 yds. After 20 rounds of getting used to it was on to the actual target and he put 15 rounds in just under 1.4 inches, not too bad for his first time.
Next we went to the 243 32 inch Brux 8 twist with TT Diamond. Some dry fire time to get used to the trigger and on the target. First 5 were near 2 inches 2nd 5 went in 3/4" and the next 2 groups were under .4" .then on to pistols. Started with the Ruger single six ,then Sig 226, Ruger Speed Six (38 special first) then 357 mag.
He wasn't as good with the pistols but he really liked them.
At the end of the session he said we have to do this again SOON...Anytime I said. YUP he's hooked.
