what was your first firearm?

My first actual firearm was believe it or not a Hi Point chambered in .40 caliber. i only shot it a couple of times before trading it off for a six shot revolver in .38 special. The High point worked j fine, it was just too blocky and chunky for me. I have small hands so it was not fun.

My father bought me a Marlin Model 60 when I was 9. I spent the whole summer shooting with my dad. He passed away about a year later. So happy to have the memories of a summer of plinking pop cans with dad and my Marlin. 30 years later its about to get passed down to my 9 year old daughter.

First one I could claim as mine was a Mossberg 283-TB bolt action .410 Dad bought for my 11th birthday. I'd been using an older version of the same gun, on loan from an uncle, since I was big enough to keep both ends off the ground. Dad owned his own business and was a one man show for many years, didn't have a lot of time to hunt. He liked squirrel so that was my job. I easily killed a pickup full of squirrels with that gun. I still take it out occasionally.

Never had squirrel. I've had rabbit, possum, rattlesnake, gator, mountain oysters though.

Interarms 30-06, traded my Hoyt competition bow for it.
Seems my ex wife didn't like me chasing bear with just my bow.
This was in 98, started reloading with a Lee Challenger press couple months after acquiring the rifle.
Also shot a bear with my bow on 8/2/99
12 yard shot. That'll tighten your O-ring!!

My first real gun was a Stevens single shot 20 gauge shotgun that I was given on my 12th birthday. My safety training consisted of a stern warning to not point it at anyone and don’t shoot towards any houses or cars.
