What seems to be shooting the best in savage f-class BRs?

The title says it all. What seems to be the popular loads for these rifles. I plan on picking one up next week and have some varget and H4895 on hand, as well as 105 berger hunting VLD and 107 SMK. Have not been able to locate CCI 450 locally and hate to pay hazmat on them to try em out, probably run BR-4s for now. Talked to my smith and he said great rifles after their press in pillars are drove out and bedded in place and a good marine-tex bed job, some minor crown work and possibly shortening the throat and setback the barrel a hair . I will see in a week how much needs to be done. For sure the bedding and crown work. Anybody shoot lighter bullets in it for 100yd paper, if so what worked

mine likes the 105 a-max's in front of varget. i tried bergers and smk's but they were not even close to the a-max's out to 600 yards which is as far as can shoot at the local range.

I havent done any 100yard work with the one I had. But I did get a 1.5 inch group at 600 with 107 smks and Rem 7.5 primers, RL 15. I did not have it bedded or anything.

Mainly plan on shooting at extended ranges too but the local clubs precision rifle match has a factory class and open class. I have 2 rifles I run in the open but wanted to try something in the factory class (bedding and trigger jobs are allowed). All classes are shot at 100 yds, that is why I wondered about lighter wt bullets. The savage f-class is about as accurate factory rifle as I know, coopers are in the open class. I was hoping that I could find a single load that is good at distance, but goes asleep quick for 100yd paper, but if that doesn't work I will try a 80ish gr load.
I have two 243, one is 1-8 and the other is 1-7.5. The 1-8 shoots 105 hunting vld awesome at any range from 100-1k. The 1-7.5 shoots .4-.5 at 100 and shoots the same size groups at 200 with 105 hunting VLD. Both rifles have delivered 1.25" 5 shot groups at 400. They are standard savage actions with good pre-fit barrels

ADAMJ, I don't have the F-class but I do have the 6mm benchrest which is basicly the same rifle that shoots in the low .2s at 100 with the Berger 80 varmint's and Varget. It also shoots the Sierra 70 hpmk pretty well with Benchmark.
Jam the Bergers .010 to .015.
Give them a try I think you'll like them

thanks for the replies and insight guys. Docshu I have some 70smk on hand also and benchmark, are you around 30.2 or so with benchmark and your 70smks?

Try 95 SMKs with IMR8208XBR. Your 4895 may be good with these as well. My Savage sports a 24" Mcgowen 8 twist, and really does well with these at 100.
