What scope in a $700 budget

Look at the Meopta, I have two of them and great scopes for the money and I do believe the 4-27x56 is right in your price range.

It must be due to reversed gravity in the Southern Hemisphere or something but a Vortex Viper PST Gen 2 5-25×50 costs about $AUD2200 but a Nightforce SHV 5-20×56 is under 2K. So for me the choice is easy and I buy NF over Vortex. I do have one Viper PST Gen 2 5-25×50 that I use on a 22lr precision trainer rifle but the glass quality between the NF SHV and the Viper PST isn't even close.

My favorite is Athlon, I currently have 3 Midas Tac in 6x24x50. Pin point recital and in your price range. I'm ordering an Athlon Ares ETR this weekend in 3x18. The Chinese glass in these scopes are on par with Japanese glass. Although I really like the dot in the Midas Tac much better. Lifetime warranty. I have used the warranty only once on their Argos line. Great customer service.

Curious what good deals are out there for a 20x and up scope.
Need some recommendations. This would be going on a 20tac rifle to be used on prairie dogs and other varmints
The Arken 5-25x56 is just beautiful to look through. Only downside(s), 39oz. weight and 34mm tube. The best deal out there right now is the Arken EPL 6-24x50 which has the same ED glass and at 23oz is a full pound lighter, plus 30mm tube. Adjustments are terrific. All the Arkens are worth far more than the price and now on 4th July sale for 25% off. It's a can't miss deal.

Yea, I’ve got an Arken EPL 6-24x50 and it’s becoming a favorite scope on a 22-250

Prairie dogs obviously means shooting in the field, requiring frequent adjustments for distance and hold off for the wind. To me that means turrets with a zero stop for dialing vertical, and FFP reticle for holding windage ( plus spotting and gauging misses). At least this is my determination based on hunting and shooting steel matches. Settle on the necessary features first, then selecting the scope brand will be much easier.

Another + for the Sightron SIII. I have several 8-32s on Varmint rifles. Not the very best glass out there but good enough to avoid eye strain of some of the lesser quality scopes I used in the past. They also track very well.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I ended up putting one of these one it.
I have a zeiss conquest on my model 70 and always been happy with it. Friend had ordered two of them and took one off his hands lol
Glass is very clear and happy with the reticle
Good choice.

Don’t forget for Sightron Lancexxx and for Arken Bill Norris right here on this board guys. A PM will get you in touch with them quick and easy.
