Savage LRPV Shooters...what scope bases?

I just picked up a new right bolt, left port LRPV.....my first. Rifle will punch paper, groundhogs and prairie dogs. What scope bases are you using?

Thanks,
T

I have a Ken Farrel 20 MOA base. Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50. 1/4" Burris Xtreme Tactical rings.

My scope is still to high. I just use rubber bands to hold a folded towel to my stock. Not sure what else to do.

Hope this helps.

I put an EGW 20moa HD Picatiny base and a nightforce varminter was hitting with badger lows on my LRPV. Gotta find something different.

I have a Farrel base and it sits high as well, because it is such a quality piece I added a cheek piece to compensate.

It is an HS stock and I used a Karsten cheek. Not the prettiest look but I am surprised with how comfortable it is on this stock.

What model did you use? Any chance you can PM me pics?

Sorry for being off topic.

leupold makes one for a Savage left hand Std. mount for a short action which i put on my lrpv
i didn't need to, but you put a shim under one end of the mount if needed

I have (2) LRPV and I just use the cheap Weaver #64 bases($6.00each) for both front and rear with Burris Signature Zee rings and this is a inexpensive but make a great way to do it without breaking the bank. The (2) scopes I am using (1) is Sightron 8X32X56 (2) is a Leupold 36BR . I am 100% happy with mine. And if I buy another LRPV will do it the same way. Ken Ferrel makes a very nice bases if you need the extra hight but they are very expensive.

I'm using EGW 20MOA on most of my rifles. Sure make it nice and convenient when you swap scopes around quite a bit, having the same height bases usually allows me to move a scope to a different rifle and not be far off, a few clicks and I'm zereod. EGW's are fairly inexpensive at 39.95. Burris Z rings are great if your not going to be moving the scope around much but are a pain if you move often because you have to slide the rings the full length of a one piece base, I prefer TPS Rings because they can just be tipped off, their aluminum rings sale for around 60.00 plus they are very well made. They are the easiest rings to tighten down and get your x-hairs level, they're designed so that the scope tube don't twist in the rings when being tightened.

I have a NEAR 10 Moa forsale! stainless round rear! Never mounted paid 175$
Will take 125$ shipped to your door! If you know about them youll Know that their one of the best if not the best out their!

I have Farrell on a centerfeed short action, an EGW on a flat rear long action, and a Benchsource on a LBRP target action. the EGW is the lowest; the Benchsource is even higher than the Farrell, but that gun has an adjustable cheek piece.

KOna_stinky, Brownells.com sell a rather handy stick on cheek rest called the Scope Eze #946-101-750 is the thin one which is a 1/4" thick but they have several models the thickest is 1&1/8" thick. they range in price from 33.35 to 47.63 and work quite well.

Thanks.

Maybe I will get one. It shouldn't look too bad on my black stock.
