What Priming Tool to Buy

hi matey, no im sorry i should have said its a hand held single prime tool, e.g. you put a single primer in it then insert your case into the shell holder and prime, bs

Sinclair Hand Priming Tool - indestructible, precise, corrosion resistant, just no negatives. Been using it for over 25 years now - completely, 100% satisfied.

PS: I believe strongly in hand priming for precision rifle reloads. If you are a "blaster" with an AR with high volume round consumption per range session, this probably isn't the tool for you.

Want to upgrade from a RCBS Bench mounted tool. Learned to cry once and get the best you can get. What do you use and why??.

Thanks
Get the Holland upgrade for the RCBS. It is adjustable and comes with a .0001” dial indicator with an adaptor to measure your primer depth. Way less than half the $$ of the Primal Rights device.

I think more needs to be said. I’m not familiar with the $600 whiz priming tools reference earlier. Still, I can’t imagine any of them being more accurate than my trusty K&M. If I had arthritis, or was priming multiple 100s of cases at a time, I’d likely want something else. As a (primarily) benchrest shooter, if I pre-load, I don’t usually load more than 100 at a time. Pretty low volume, with 110% emphasis on top-shelf precision. If I were loading hundreds of Cowboy action or 9mm at a time, I’d let a progressive do all the work.
Part of all this is knowing (or thinking you know) what you need, and then getting it. Take a long look at what the best in your shooting discipline(s) are using/doing, and decide accordingly. The folks on the winners podium don’t skimp on their equipment. You can’t buy your way onto the podium, but at the same time, even the best F1 drivers couldn’t win driving a moving van.

Here is a quick look at part of what goes with me for loading for the PPC at the range. My "Old Man Hands" appreciates the primer.....

thritis in my hands and squeezing that booger is getting harder! I've had and sold the RCBS bench mount, didn't like the time it took to load the tube but may have to revisit or find a half priced deal on a primal rights primer!!
This is what I got to fill primer tubes and it works great, about 30-40 sec. to fill a tube. I bought mine about 6 years ago of $30, I can't believe what they want now but it works great and save so much time and frustration. I believe Frankford arsenal makes a similar one. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1016143772?pid=714745

If I was going to buy another primer tube filler before I payed the new going rate for the one I posted above I would probably go with this one, it would be a little easier to use than the Horndandy as seen in the videos on this page. https://www.doublealpha.biz/us/primafill

Does stacking primers in a tube create a potential bomb ?
I don't know about a bomb, but I never go those tube contraptions to work reliability. I would often get a primer turned side way or shave a sliver off the cup. I believe this was due to the inconsistency of the spring mounted seating stem.

One more thing I like about the Sinclair tool that I forgot to mention is that if your bench is space challenged, the hand priming tool stores on the shelf and doesn't take up any bench space. I like that a lot, the least clutter I have on top of the bench the better it is for me.

I bought this kit also and it works great. I had everything that I needed but this one is so well marked and complete I thought I would give it a try. The fact that everything screws together is really nice.

I started using the RCBS bench primer because my hands just can't do more than a few cases without cramping anymore. Getting old and arthritis sucks, but, ......... That priming tool in the video looks to me to be a really good tool. I like that it is adjustable for seating depth. May have to get me one of those.
Yeah - I recently primed 2,500 cases in one sitting with my hand primer. My carpal has reminded me of it since then. Gotta get one of those.....
