What primers in 20 Vartarg?

What brand of primer are people using in their 20 vartargs? I started using Fed 205m but they are starting to get very scarce over here in Australia. Some places only have a few packets of it, a few had a brick(1OOO) and that was it. They have plenty of Federal standard small rifle but not many match primers. Thinking i might have to try CCI's. I have 1000 BR4's that i use in my 6BR. What's everyone else use?

When things are tight, you use what's available. Get them and work up your loads with them. I prefer CCI BR primers. That's all I use.:D

Thanks for your replies gents. My concern is if i find a good load with the Fed 205M and then i have to change because I've run out of them and have to use another brand, that something will change with that good load. Do you think anything will or could change? Point of impact or accuracy? I might just have to drive a few hours to some other LGS and buy up 205M where i can.

Gee guy, ya think? Not trying to be a smartazz but aren't these the variables that are pursued as if it were The Grail? But, to answer your question...............yes.

I use the Fed 205M, but changed to Fed 205 when I ran low on the 205M with zero change in impact or accuracy.

I don't have a 20 vartarg..but I shoot 221 fireball, 17 fireball..I have found best velocity, and best groups in my guns with Remington 7 1/2 br primers..I have tried a few other primers along side of many , many powders..again I found best ignition, tightest groups with Remington 7 1/2 br primers..
The best thing is they seem to be more readily available, and less expensive then other primers.
Since I don't have a .20 vartarg, I can only assume the Remington primers would work best.

I believe the CCI 450's and Rem. 7.5 have the same cup thickness, shoot the ones that are the most accurate that you can get your hands on. My 20VT likes the 7.5 the best.

Regular Federal 205s. Shot over 4000 combined vartarg rounds with them. In limited tests they shot better than the 7.5s and 450s with my H4198 loads

Don't overlook cci 400. Read some positive stuff about Remington's and others. Had 1000's of cci400's on hand and have been very happy with them and H4198. Groups in the upper Zero's and ones made me a believer.

I managed to find 2000 205M's on the weekend, i might get a few packets of the 400's and 7.5's and give them a try.
