What non gun projects have you been doing?

Well what good is a flatbed trailer without a big ole winch...12,000lb should be sufficient...
Picked up a like new 16', 10,000lb trailer for a killer price. (I am too embarrassed to post what I paid it is that damn low...LOL)
5 brand new tires, including the spare!
Winch is mounted. Just need to bolt on the control box and run the wires to the batteries. Got tired of working on it today...LOL
Batteries, with a cut off switch, will go in the green box.

Built 1/2 mile of four strand fence on rocky ground on our eastern boundary. Built two new campsites for people on the waiting list. Built new steps for the front of the house. Re-graded the parking area and part of the yard to mange run-off better. Now I'm getting the trailer ready for a winter trip.
In the evenings, I'm trying to put together some videos of gun work which I hope to edit and upload to You Tube over the winter. Tonight, I start on a re-barrel and minor restoration of a Model 95 Winchester. I guess that's gun related, so scratch that! WH

My wife decided we needed chickens in a master planned community (HOA Nazis). It was decided to build it incognito (inside garage workshop). It would need to be modular so that it could be disassembled, carried through house and reassembled in backyard with no one the wiser… walls, roof, and floor/base are all independent components. IMG_9656.jpeg The price of fasteners (screws and bolts) was only beat by amount of paint…

At my wife’s strong request (demand), this project was hastily designed (freestyle) on back of a large flatscreen TV box. I am tempted to convert it to a hunting blind or raise it 10 feet in the air to use it for a fort, specifically my fort.

Thanks for that recipe. It is very similar to a recipe my mother had that I loved. I haven't been able to find her recipe, but I think yours is close enough to make me very happy.
Don't be afraid to modify it. I always try to use good ingredients, good bacon and I won't use the prefabricated andouille (Johnson's & similar) sausage, get some from a small local retailer. Be sure to turn the beans while cooking, that way you will just burp. I forgot to add the usual disclaimer, I'm not responsible if you make your self sick or over eat. My wife is taking another batch to a contest today. It's not technical, it's cowboy cooking. Just put on a big hat and go for it. Hint for success, serve 1 1/2 hours late, guest will be more hungry (starving is better) and you will get lots of praise.

The current and winter project is this old '61 Triumph motorcycle. Basically stock when I bought it in '66, after a teardown and rebuild this is how it looked in '69. Most things had been changed. Frame very much. Ignition was now with points running later model battery-less ET. I did a lot of dumb stuff on that bike and was fortunate to live through those years. My friend even raced it once on the TT, podiumed. It Both tanks, seat, fender, front end were later put on another bike in '74 and sold. Remaining parts sat ever since then and in '91 wound up in my shop. It's finally going back together now, slowly. Likely not show quality but much nicer, lighter faster better.

Ceriani forks, alloy rim and Yamaha TLS brake will work better, stop better than stock Triumph clunk and saved 36lbs.

Lots of fabrication already done. Rear frame section narrowed. Oil tank made from piece of boat mast, and now with Pazon pointless ignition. Seat, exhaust, lighting/wiring, different rear wheel, and a bunch of other parts still to be fabricated. Paint. And the engine. Then on to the '70 behind it. An entire winter's worth.

What part of the Ozarks? I grew up in Springfield. I miss South Missouri and Northern Arkansas.

Over the last couple/three spring thaws I’ve built my mountain cabin, I liked it so much we decided to call it home.
I’m in about 40,000 cash, if someone doesn’t like the way I live I tell them I don’t care, don’t bother stopping by.
Jim, That is how we live. My wife and I moved up here and bought a small cabin. I asked her if she was sure it would be big enough. She said yes and we moved it onto the property. During the winter she decided e needed more room. The following two years I dug a basement with my tractor poured the slab and laid block for the walls. Then built a 20x28 milled log cabin on top. We did all the work ourselves. Killed my back but we got it done.

Oh you are a better carpenter than me..!

Baling 2nd hay cutting, like 100ac being done. So far behind that we are having to get the first round out of the fields while we are doing the second cutting. Had a lot of rain this year. Went back to raining before we got the first one hauled out after rolling, by the time the ground would hold us up the grass was coming back and we didn't want to rut up the meadows. Just picking it up as we do the last one.... John View attachment 1479771

Have always enjoyed bicycle riding.....wife also

So in July I bought my first EBike...Himiway Zebra direct from Himiway $1749 shipped

20 AH battery...60 mile range on throttle alone...80 if you peddle assist (approx)

Weighs 79#....26 x 4" fat tires....supports rider weight of 400#...7 speed Shimano shifter

1-9 peddle assist levels (PAS) after reprogramming Factory PAS settings are 1-5

Meaning you reprogram assist levels from 20% to 99% throughout the 1-9 levels

Anyhow bought the wife the same bike (same battery/charger) last month..step through frame

She luv's it !...I have 1475 miles on mine since July...If you've considered one...these are great

Recent dispersed camping pic of both bikes...great way to get around while camping

I recently bought a Prusa Mk4 3D printer kit to replace my older Mk3, which I gave to my son.
Building it yourself really gives an appreciation for how it works, and gives confidence that if I had to do repairs, I could.,but the old one never needed a repair.

box arrives.

Why buy a new one, when the old one still worked OK, that's easy, the new one has steppers with twice the number of steps, a new screen to control it and a bunch of other features. It's the newer better model, so I had to have it.
It works great, and my son is happy with my old printer, and is making good use of it.
Last laptop screen doesn't look anything like finished printer. Are you sure you're done?;)
