What kinda speed can I get from a 6.5 Swede, 140ELDX bullet?

A 150g SMK started at 2800 fps has the same drop to 1000 yards as a 110g SMK started at 2900 fps.

We sure have,but I am still sticking with my 114 year old M96 . It still shoots great ,always loaded mild have never tested the upper limits.

The 110MK coming out at 3000 still beats in trajectory by 32" out to 1200, the 150 gets about 2" better in the wind at that distance. Any you swede shooters have that 7.5" twist barrel?

I was being facetious. The only real improvement has been a short action length. Faster fps has only come with much greater barrel erosion. The 6.5x55 gets approx. the same performance @ 48K psi as the short action copycats get at 60K psi.

With the short bearing surface of that bullet, I get almost the same velocity of the 142s in my 6.5x55 BJAI (2950fps).

Wade, What twist are you shooting them with? Just wondering if I should waste time/loads testing them in an 8tw.

I am shooting them in an 8 twist. I have only shot them at 300 yards so far, but can let you know how they do better farther out.

The bearing surface of the SMK 150 is almost the same as the SMK 142. The extra length is forward of the ogive
My 1-8 260 is not giving good accuracy with them. R17 will give 2800+ with the 150 but there are a lot of poor groups.
