Of the brass I have used it would be Laupa first followed by Norma. Worst brass I have used is Nosler partly because of the price. JMO
Never sorted Lapua, nor will I ever..????? For critter shooting how close should you keep your brass weights to get good accurate loads. Grouping brass bags of 100 into weight groups????? What should be my goal??
Spot on Murray and more importantly than price for me is one box will be outstanding then the next 4 boxes “Junk” it’s to hit and miss at a premium priceOf the brass I have used it would be Laupa first followed by Norma. Worst brass I have used is Nosler partly because of the price. JMO
When Nosler first came out I believe they were made by Norma and the quality of the first brass they put out depicted that it was of high quality. I first bought 7-08 and it was almost perfect then I bought some .308 and same thing, I was a huge fan. Since my .300 Lapua brass was getting long in the tooth and unobtainable for years I bought 3 boxes … the worse Remington or Hornaday I’ve ever seen was twice as good as those .300 wm Nosler prepped brass I bought!.. I threw all 300 cases in the brass bucket!… never loaded a single piece of it!.. had several people say you could have given it to me!… it’s like my Hornaday concentricity tool…. I don’t hate anyone bad enough to give it too… same with the brass. Well I wasn’t smart enough to end it there, the .308 brass I previously bought was excellent so I bought 5 boxes of premium prepped.308 brass OMG!…I didn’t throw it away but I loaded it with cheap military take down powder and Midway seconds for bullets and ejected them on the ground at the range where they remained.Peterson for xc and 308
Adg, Remington, Norma. for saum
Lapua for br, but Peterson didn’t make it or I’d have gone for it. I’d trade.
I thought nosler was norma?
I’m glad lapua has been matched in many cases and adg/alpha/peterson are providing options.
I can respect that I try to buy local whenever I can. Fortunately for me there’s many high end gun and component companies where I live and within a couple hour drive. Idaho, Montana and some in WashingtonI use mostly Rem and Win since I have a bunch.
If I get to rebarrel I will use Peterson because they are local.
Peterson has been making 6BR cases for years….Peterson for xc and 308

Yessir but I have not needed br brass for a greater number of years.Peterson has been making 6BR cases for years….
Good product and I sold of my Lapua brass… Going on 15-18 loads, no neck failure or loose primer pockets…

My first experience with Peterson was when they made a run of 7BR. Didn’t know when that would happen again so I bought 200. Given the outstanding quality I don’t think at age 73 that I’ll ever have to buy more. I’ve since used their 6BR that I bought when Lapua was unavailable. Great brass.Peterson has been making 6BR cases for years….

-I like Remington brass the best for factory brassI suppose this is something of a poll. I've been reading a bit while the weather is bad and it's brought up a few questions. Brass cases, for one.
Just curious how some of you choose what you do and why.
Thanks for looking.
Lapua has too much neck tension?…. Strange.-I like Remington brass the best for factory brass
Nice consistent neck tension which is important for extreme accuracy
-Peterson Brass for custom, much better neck tension than Lapua which has wayyyy too much neck tension
Yes, I didn’t really understand his thought on that either.Lapua has too much neck tension?…. Strange.
I’ve never seen that in any brass of any brand. I give it whatever neck tension I want it to have
Wayne
Very easy to run a mandrel in the new necks to decrease neck tension.Yes, I didn’t really understand his thought on that either.
