LaRue Tactical has a great reputation for value with their MBT at around $100, but I only heard about them after I already bought Geissele’s for All my AR’s.
I really like my ALG for being solid, crisp, light enough to be enjoyable and heavy enough to be confident in.
Check for reviews on RRA triggers. I believe they have had issues in the past. G triggers are solid and will last. I like my SSA a lot but would probably spring for the SSA-E if I was doing it over.

The RRA triggers have a reputation for failing in the long term. In this instance, I truly believe that you get what you pay for.
Disclaimer: Modifications to any mil-spec trigger can result in burst or auto fire if done incorrectly. Care needs to be taken not to remove too much material in the process since only the surfaces of the parts are hardened. Go too deep, and it will wear abnormally and may become unsafe, or cease to function. Do not change any engagement angles!
Being on a fixed income, I have found that mil-spec triggers can be improved with very little work and still be reliable and safe. Mine are between 4 and 5 pound pulls, but are very smooth with a consistent and clean break, and little creep.
Some polishing compound, slight modifications to the springs, and about 20 minutes works wonders. Polishing of the hammer and sear can be done by coating the contact area with compound and dry firing(taking care not to let the hammer impact the receiver) for perhaps 100 cycles. Clean thoroughly, and remove any burrs or machine marks from frictional surfaces on all parts of the trigger group. Slightly bend both feet on the trigger spring, and one on the hammer spring(pictures and video can be found on the interwebs) and assemble normally, lube and test.
So far, the ARs that I have modded have proved to be 100% reliable, and are a pleasure to shoot.

All I'll say is.....B.S. !! I personally have long term experience with
the RRA triggers. Been shooting them just about since the Larson's
opened shop years ago. One brother has since passed. My latest
3 are two Delta Mid HBr's and a EOP bull barrel varmint. The Varmint
has the lightest trigger at just under 3 lbs. The Mids are 3 lbs and 4.5
lbs. The reason for the 4.5 trigger is to make it legal at match's that
require a mil trigger. These guns are not closet queens. Triggers
break nice and clean. The trigger on the EOP feels like a 2 pounder
but pull gage says 2 lbs 12 ozs. I never felt the need to go elsewhere
and pay a higher dollar, and I will be the first one to tell ya, I'll go to
something else if there is a problem. Now as for Geisselle ?? I hear
their triggers are excellent from other shooters, but I did break one
of their charging handles in a speed steel match.
I have installed several Geissle triggers. . . and they are very nice.
I have also tuned conventional geometry triggers up to the edge, past the edge, and back. You will never replicate a Geissle with conventional geometry without compromising safety.

Yep, and I have used them for years with zero issues. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with the Gieselle either.
