BAT trigger

Im looking for a trigger for a BAT model M action that is adjustable from around 2oz to 2lbs for shooting F-class. i prefer a slightly heavyer trigger than most BR people but it MUST be crisp. Is anyone using a nice trigger that is good value?

Pretty hard to safely pull any Remington trigger down to 2 pounds...
Jewell is the way to go...

I'm sure he meant Remington-style trigger.

A Jewell HVR with no safety or bolt stop can be had for about $US 150. Don't know what that would cost in Oz. That'd be my choice.

yeah i had seen the HVR and thought that might be the a good option thanks for the input. As far as price HaHa!!! i have allmost stoped even bothering getting prices from dealers in australia!! put it this way i have just bought a BAT M action, broughton HV 6.5 33" 5c 1/8, chamber job, tapered s/s rail and trigger guard from brunos for around the same as the action alone would have cost me here!!:D

I went with the Jewel HVR on my Bat actioned F-Class rig. I just left the trigger set at the 1lb. setting the trigger came with.

I know Bat makes a couple of different trigger hangers for my action, made at different lengths, which will affect your bolt timing. My timing might be off alittle, I need to contact Bat to see which hanger works best for the HVR.

bolt timing?? how does that work? I've adjusted several standard and fitted some timney triggers before but haven't had a problem with timing? is that what you guys call sear engagement? I'm no expert so I'm all ears

Some BAT actions come with two trigger hangars, each of which is reversible, if I remember correctly,I can't remember where I put the unused ones at the moment). The allow you to adjust the position of the trigger in .010" increments front-to-back. I don't think I've ever used anything but the "0" setting on any of mine, so far.

So, yes, Flybuster is talking about sear engagement, just one of the issues involved in bolt timing.
