What has happened to the rifle ranges? All ARs now, no chronographs.

No unaimed fire is pretty strict? Shikes. Spray and pray?

These sorts of comments scare the cr*p out of me. I've just moved from the UK (and I grew up in NZ). What am I going to find when I head down to the range nearest to me, down in Homestead. I'm used to the common sense rules of the likes of Bisley. Demonstrate unsafe practices in front of any range officer (on duty or not) and you lose your safe shooter certification, a certification card that must be displayed at all times. Basic common sense.

Semi-auto is sensibly constrained to .22LR only. Automatic weapons sensibly banned. Only three shooting sprees have occurred in England in modern history. Safe, responsible gun ownership and use encouraged.

Just find a pin and pop the bubble surrounding yourself. No reason to be afraid, it's not the wild west, no one is shooting at you. AR 15's are a big part of American culture today, you'll have to decide what levels suit you.

They also make great home defense weapons, fast and accurate. Un like a truck or a van.

Nice piece. I have a Kimber CDP in the night stand with extra mag. No problem emptying a mag on the double quick

You might want to reconsider where you live. We enjoy semi-auto (and full-auto) weapons here. We also drink our beer cold.
Around here we like to go to the mountains and shoot at steel, and rocks, while enjoying a cold one

Leave that crap in the countries that you left behind. If you think we're not sensible enough for your tastes, "Delta is ready when you are."

Welcome to the land of the free, and the home of the brave. These aren't your great-great grandfather's colonies.

LOL! You guys are killing me with laughter. Embracing the change. Here's just hoping I don't get shot in the back at the range by some clown who can't check his rifle is clear.

I just got out of homestead after a 6mo run. There are plenty of weapons right next door in florida city (they tell me it has a worse crime rate than detroit per capita). Grab you a full auto and enjoy not having gun control or registration cards for once in your life.

That's too rich. "Modern history," what is that exactly? Your country's responsible for subjugation and extermination of how many hundreds of millions of people, worldwide, in the name of your queen and you presume to tell us what's sensible regarding arms? You're out of your depth; go back to your tea and cucumber sandwiches and focus on protecting your incompetent, docile constituency from pointy objects and acid. And good luck with those civilised mideastern immigrants you're harbouring, no doubt they'll integrate seamlessly with everyone else there.

youre not going to fit in too good in the USA. you're way too sensible. you should probably skip the gun range visits. they'll have some of those crazy remington 7400 rifles out there and just about the time he gets thru shooting the pie plate at 25yds the guy is going to pull up with the supressed, SBR, full auto 9mm AR "assault rifle"- oh the nonsense!

I used to have a Remington 788 in 7-08 with an old Weaver K10 for just that purpose.

I've got a 788 in .22-250. It's the most accurate rifle I've ever shot. I've got a 100 yard group I can completely cover with a dime. It's also topped with a Weaver, but it has the C-10. I haven't shot it in fifteen years, but I'd never get a price that would tempt me to part with it. It's not much to look at, though. A diamond in the rough.

But my two most recent firearm acquisitions are ARs, a 15 and a 10, but my last FedEx delivery was a chronograph. Yeah, I run a brake too, but it's so I'm back on target to see hits or misses as the case may be. Even with an AR, it's the hits that count. Only accurate rifles are interesting.

Let’s face it. When your young the cool factor and how something looks is a very big part of how we spend our money. When you pick one up for the first time it feels good. Parents will always look at youth with disgust and say wth are they thinking. It’s part of the sport. We need these people to keep the interest in guns. Otherwise with the current situation we could end up loosing our rights all together.

Just a reminder that violent crime increased 80% since the citizenry was disarmed. Over 60% of the break-ins now occur with the homeowners present as that is more lucrative. So how well is that working?

The more shooters, the safer our 2A rights are. Personally, I think it is poor form to run someone down because of what he likes to shoot. JMHO.

The more shooters there are across the country, the more voters there are to maintain the Second Amendment! I don't care if 80 percent of the country all went "AR Crazy"! If we had 80 percent of the country as gun owners / shooters, there would be no chance of a successful attack on the Second Amendment! Bring on all the armament we can! Oh, I forgot to mention>>>I don't own any "AR" Type rifle!
