What do you want to get better at in 2017

I am a pistol guy, even though I own and shoot rifles fairly well.
It is probably a given among us to have several different handguns or rifles we would like to purchase in 2017.
But what would you like to achieve in your shooting skill set in the next year?
Do you set improvement goals?
Whether it is improving your presentation, offhand shooting or tightening your groups from the kneeling position, how do you plan on going about and making those improvements?
Maybe there is some gear that you want to buy in this next year that will help you with those personal challenges ... what accessories do you plan to add in the next year?
We typically see, I'm gonna buy this new handgun or I'm going to go hunting in this location for next year.
What do you want to get better at in terms of handgunning and or with rifles??? Whether it be match shooting, hunting, varminting, steel, SD, or even general plinking...
Do you have friendly challenges among your buddies, reaching certain goals or meeting certain challenges in terms of handgun in any type? Rifle or carbine shooting?
What do you want to get better at?
What are you willing to do to make it happen?

This is what I'm presently working on. Friend & I were shooting prone a ways back at 300 yards & he suggested we try it offhand. To say I shot awful is an understatement. It shamed me into digging out my old Mossy .22 and start working on my form, breathing, and slinging again. Shooting offhand was sooo easy just a few years ago...well, ok. 20-ish years ago

Agree with DRN,reading wind.Also offhand riflecraft with "typical" hunting pkgs.(skinny brrls,modest scopes,3-9,3-12's).

Work up loads with chrono's and BR heavy rests/bags....then get onto offhand work killing coke cans.Am pretty good @75....with practice 100-125 yds is a goal.I'm 60,like messin with the kiddies, them all hunkered down on benches.I want to get real good offhand.

I'm looking forward to just shooting more! I just started reloading this year and next year I'm looking forward to finding loads that work best for my rifle. I've lost a lot of my refinement in shooting since I've had to be careful with the ammo I've had.

I am gonna try a tuner on my UBR rifle,,get about 6-8 more wind flags and after making my goal of 500 this year and shooting 506 and 2 499s and a 495 my last 4 matches I liked one point averaging 500 for those 4 matches,,my next goal is to shoot 510 and win a match,,

Reading wind. Fundamentals. Consistently putting rounds into the vitals area of a human size target @ 100yd with a handgun... and everything else!

I have to spend all my time reading my wind flags while working on bench manners shooting at the range with the PPC and the 6.5. I need to talk to the land owner behind me to see if he will let me set up a 100-200yd range so i don't have to travel to the range and make the best of sharing less than optimal benches.

I need to improve my trigger technique. I have a Sav 2 trigger on a 110 set up for 6BR. The pull is set up at about 1 Lb. Occasionally I see a twitch when touching it off. Debating about lowering pull weight or my pulling technique.

Personal shooting goals for 2017:
Grouping the 357 Magnum Franken-Ruger from 750 to possibly 1000 yards.
Testing the Cold Shot MOAB mount past a mile on a rifle and a specialty pistol.
Group several SP's beyond 2K out to 2500 yards.
Get into better field shooting shape before June. I had some rust on my shooting skills this past summer.
Shoot some 600 yard F-Class matches.
See how far I can make connections on 10" Steel with my MOA, FA, THOR, and DOMINATOR SP's from field positions.
Increase my speed and accuracy on 6" squares at various distances with my SD/CC handguns while moving.
Practice with SD handguns out to 50 yards
Clean and organize my reloading room

On the rifle trigger control, with the pistol - off hand shooting and steel plate shooting at 25 yards. Thinking about taking a class (rifle) but who has time for that... maybe when I retire one day.

#1 To accumulate leg points towards DR badge.
#2 longer range load development with my AR15 prone rifle
#3 finally start building a 6.5x47 bolt gun
#4 get the wife to shoot (it's a long shot, but I won't give up!)

I would like to aquire more practice time this coming year. I had a shoulder operation and am having complications including pain and stiffness. It has set me back because I cant sleep worth a darned. I am staying active but cant afford anymore PT. I will see what the Doc says shortly. The one thing I need is to spend more time on trigger control. Every once in awhile I get a touch of flinch when I am away from shooting, it drives me nuts. It usually takes a good afternoon to calm down and remember to focus on trigger control and good form.

Taking my heartbeat out of my groups....

And, the occasional wiggle.
