What do you put under your A&D scale?

Mine sits on my reloading bench, top made of 3/4 ply laminated to 1/2 ply with a 1/2 thick aluminum front section. rear section has Formica laminated to it. The bench is lagged into the concrete foundation.
When in use, I pull the scale to the front of the bench.

I had mine on two brick cap blocks to help dampen vibration but when I got the ST it was too tall and I had to remove one of the brick cap blocks. It's a poor mans granite block, same Idea but ugly and cheap.

Ideally you would have the balance/scale isolated from your bench on a separate stand alone from anything else. I don't have room for that currently but maybe if I ever get to building my workshop...

Cheers,
Toby

Sorbothane layer underneath the granite. Lagging the bench to the wall will transmit vibrations from passing cars - it's a real thing that causes our well to produce more sediment in times of heavy traffic - into the bench.

My A&D scale is on a plastic card table. Works fine. But if you want more - sorbothane.

My scale comes out everytime I need to use it.
So, I mounted my scale to a piece of ½" thick solid birch. The birch has four ¼-20 legs that I can adjust individually to level the scale.

Thanks! The 2” is about perfect. Free shipping if I order 3 of them (one for each of my A&D scales).
So tempted right now.
If you bump the table, the granite moves and the scale moves.

What's the benefit of the slab?

Well first off… don’t bump your bench while your powder is dispensing.

Second.. if you have multiple throwers, for example I have a SuperTrickler and an AutoTrickler side by side (plans to eventually add IP System), I believe a granite slab under each would prevent vibrations from one thrower from affecting the other(s).

I have to STOP reading those threads......ordered 12"x9"x2" granite block from grizzly and 12"x12" sorbothane pad from McMaster :mad:
