what did you shoot today?

Another cannon, this one is at Fort Jefferson. Didn’t shoot it yesterday but, had a nice walk back in time and experience some of our history. I need to reduce the size of some pictures so I can post them.

I shot nothing today! I packed the Jeep up with all my gear. I drove out to the range, (about 6 miles) and proceeded to set up. I went to get my rifle...Stopped in my tracks! NO soft case. All weapons must be cased from the vehicle to the shooting area and back. I slowly packed everything back up and drove back home. Tomorrow will be another day.

Fifty rounds of practice at 600 yards at Ben Avery . Enjoyed the morning , even though it was a bit warm , and humidity level coming up as we are approaching our Monsoon season . 79 F at 7:00 a.m. , and 100 F when we left the Range at 10:00 a.m.
And we do get high humidity here for a month or two every year . Over 100 F and 80-90% Humidity does send me back to Nam , when I close my eyes .

I played around yesterday mourning, seeing what 139gr. Absolute Hammer would do out of my 270Rum.
ADG brass 3rd firing Amp annealed.
CCI250 commercial grade
H-1000
90gr - 3635fps
91 - 3705
91.5 - 3795
92 - 3824, 3804fps slight ejector marks.
Looks like a high node 91.5 to 92.
I'll keep playing.

today was 'western day'. mostly lever-action rifle, s.a. revolvers, shortened coach gun, etc.
no 'modern' powder. b.p. only. targets were the usual assortment of cans, plastic drink bottles
still need use of a chair but my balance is better.
one year older not necessarily wiser. lol.

digging around in the 'arsenal'. found an old .22 long rifle revolver. shot a few cylinders worth of both LR & shorts. a few light primer strikes as to be expected. that was quickly resolved though. massacred a whole 'family' of tin/aluminum cans then cola bottles before calling it quits. everything hurts today, even the .22 seemed 'heavy'.

A couple chipmunk showed up around the garden. I like strawberries, chipmunk need to go. Checked the zero on my Gamo swarm 22, it's ready. Range is still flooded, no where for the river to drain to, so I loaded up some 9mm.
